Today, a meeting of the Central Electoral Commission for holding elections and referendums in Turkmenistan was held, at which the results of the elections for members of the Gengesh of the village of Aba Annayev, Karizek etrap, Arkadag city, held on the 23rd of July in an atmosphere of openness and publicity, on a broad alternative basis, were summed up.
The meeting was attended by members of the Central Election Commission and staff specialists, members of working commissions established under the Central Election Commission, responsible representatives for national observers of the central bodies of the Democratic Party, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Agrarian Party, the Union of Trade Unions, the Women's Union, the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of the media.
During the meeting, the report of the chairman of the election commission of the city of Arkadag on the work carried out to sum up the results of the elections was heard.
In accordance with the Electoral Code, on the basis of democratic principles, two candidates were registered for one seat in each of the 5 electoral districts, which indicates that elections were held on an alternative basis. In this way, according to the protocols of the election commissions, 5 members of the Gengesh were elected based on the voting results.
All activities leading up to the elections were held in a timely manner and in accordance with the current national legislation and generally accepted international legal norms.
According to the CEC, the elections of members of the Gengesh were recognized as valid. Out of 10 candidates, 5 representatives were elected.
All people's representatives - employees of various sectors of the national economy, representatives of the Democratic Party, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Agrarian Party - are professionals in their field.
The active work of national observers who monitored the electoral process was noted. Information was also heard from responsible representatives on national observers of the central bodies of political parties and public organizations. As emphasized, the elections were held at a high level, in accordance with national legislation and international standards.
At the meeting of the CEC, the results of the election of members of the Gengesh of the village of Aba Annayev, Karizek etrap of the city of Arkadag were approved. In accordance with the current legislation of Turkmenistan, information about the elected candidates will be published in the near future in the media.
Elections of members of the local self-government of the village of Aba Annayev became another important step towards the implementation of democratic reforms initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and successfully continued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aimed at strengthening the principles of true democracy in the country - the primordial tradition of the nation.
