Today, with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, large-scale celebrations began in honour of the opening of the country's first «smart» city of Arkadag.

The appearance of the new city found a harmonious combination of the best traditions of national architecture and modern trends in architecture and design. The complex infrastructure created here that meets international standards, including in the environmental sphere, provides optimal comfort and convenience for residents. By the way, eco-friendly types of public transport – electric buses and electric taxis – will run along the city highways. In this way, the city of Arkadag embodies all the newest and most progressive that is in the world of urban planning and engineering and technical thought.

From early morning, the atmosphere of a national holiday and high emotional mood reigned on the square near the «Akhan» monument, from where the celebrations were launched in honour of the opening of the country's first «smart» city, which can rightfully be called the city of the future. The ceremony participants, including foreign guests who also arrived in our country, greeted President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with great enthusiasm.

An inspired musical and choreographic composition performed by the creative teams of Turkmenistan unfolded on the square.

Having proceeded to the monument depicting the image of the legendary horse «Akhan», the head of state, together with foreign guests, opened it.

As you know, «Akhan» - a magnificent representative of the famous Ahal-Teke breed - is a world record holder, included in the Guinness Book of Records. The original sculptural composition that adorns the new city, erected on the initiative of the Hero-Arkadag, is a symbol of people's love for the «heavenly» horses, which are an invaluable asset and pride of the nation.

At that moment, when the canvas covering it fell from the «Akhan» monument, light clouds of multi-colored balloons flew up to the solemn melody, and fountains began to work at the foot.

Then President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and foreign guests went to the Main Square of the city of Arkadag.

In a solemn atmosphere, to the sounds of the National Anthem of Turkmenistan, the State Flag of the Fatherland was raised.

During the celebrations, the opening ceremony of the «Arkadag» monument was also held.
