Events of the past week have become the next visible evidence of success of economic strategy carried out under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for diversification of industrial, resource, labour, spiritual and intellectual potential of our fatherland with a view of its accelerated inclusion in the level of developed countries of the world.
On June 19, the President of Turkmenistan held an online working meeting, which considered issues of development of regions of the country as well as the course of agricultural work.
As was informed, grain-harvesting season proceeds in velayats at high rates, all measures for its conduction in short terms and with high quality are undertaken. Fields freed from grain crops ploughed. All agricultural machinery is involved in full capacity. Along with it, care of cotton is carried out with observance of agro-technical standards.
On June 19, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Turkmenistan Philippe Merlin.
During the meeting, the head of the state noted a special contribution of French companies to development of some branches of our national economy throughout many years. So, the partnership successfully extends in building, oil and gas and communication spheres.
Among perspective areas of interaction information technology, chemical, food-processing industries and others were mentioned. In this connection, an important role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-French commission on economic cooperation was pointed out.
That very day, in the Mejlis credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Turkmenistan Viktor Boretsky were received.
Within the limits of exchange of opinions on expansion of cooperation, its perspective directions taking into account priorities of state development of both countries were defined.
On June 23, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to consider issues of social and economic development of the country and drafts of some documents.
The head of the state noted importance of maintenance of legal basis of cardinal reforms realized in all spheres and further perfection of activity of the national parliament.
A number of instructions were given concerning complex modernisation of operating manufactures of "Türkmenhimiýa" State Concern and infrastructure of the energy sphere, increase in its export potential and perfection of management systems of enterprises of the textile branch.
At the meeting, preparation for the competition of innovative projects “Digital solution- 2023” and the project “Assistance in the implementation of a pilot system of interdepartmental electronic information exchange in Turkmenistan” signed between “Türkmenaragatnashyk” Agency and UNDP was informed.
The information on realisation of the Plan of action, devoted to celebration of the 300th birthday anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet-classic and philosopher of the East Makhtumkuli and also planned for July of the current year was also provided.
A number of proposals aimed at implementation of Sustainable development goals within cooperation with the United Nations, including presentation of the second voluntary national review of Turkmenistan on realisation of SDGs within the high level Political forum of Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) were sounded.
During the given forum, which will take place in New York in July of this year, it is proposed to hold presentation of the city of Arkadag, organising it together with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and Representative of the Resident co-ordinator of the United Nations in Turkmenistan. At that, It was noted that the city of Arkadag in basis of which the Concept of "smart city” lies, completely meets the requirements of the 11th SDG “"Ensuring openness, security, resilience and sustainability of cities and towns."
It was proposed to organise a round table in August following the results of the above-named forum, devoted to complex measures undertaken in Turkmenistan on fulfilment of SDGs with participation of representatives of agencies of the United Nations.
Besides it, proposals on placement platforms on the internet site of the State Statistics Committee (www.stat.gov.tm) with information database on realization of sustainable development goals in our country as well as participation of the Turkmen side in SDGs Summit, which will pass in September of the current year within the framework of the 78th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations were sounded.
At the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution on perfection of the technical and material basis of industrial projects of "Türkmengaz" State Concern as well as instructed to begin preparation of its profile structures for the forthcoming winter season.
Besides it, the head of the state signed the Resolution on amendment and additions to the Provisions on job placement of graduates of vocational and higher professional educational institutions.
According to the document adopted according to article 30 of the Law of Turkmenistan “On legal acts“, with a view of qualitative fulfilment of the tasks put before institutions, organisations and enterprises of the city of Arkadag, which bears a legal status of city of state significance and also constant perfection of the personnel, it is planned to send graduates who have successfully finished higher educational schools of the country from Akhal velayat and Ashgabat city to the modern smart city for work.
Besides it, the past week President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the National plan of action on realisation of the rights of children in Turkmenistan for 2023-2028.
On June 24, the head of the state received Vice President of the International Cycling Union (UCI), President of the Asian Cycling Confederation Osama Al Shafar.
During the exchange of opinions on prospects of further cooperation in the field of cycling, the President of the country underlined that Turkmenistan has all possibilities to hold large international competitions in various disciplines of the given sport and is ready to consider possibilities of use of modern indoor bicycle track in the Olympic village of Ashgabat.
As was marked, Osama Al Shafar is also a co-chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates. The interest in strengthening of brotherly relations between peoples of two states was in this connection expressed.
That very day President Serdar Berdimuhamedov as well as National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the city of Ashgabat to get familiarised with the course of realisation of the program of social and economic development of the capital.
The head of the state and Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty inspected new objects located near the Ashgabat international airport. In particular, they familiarised themselves with equipment of the air base and work on maintenance service of planes, their conformity to requirements of time and international standards.
Then President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag visited the northern part of the capital, which has become a unique business centre of Ashgabat where they discussed the presented projects and sketches of the shopping and entertainment centre and other objects located there and the city complexes planned for reconstruction and constructions of road and transport infrastructure.
Among other events of the week was the meeting with head of the delegation for the countries of Central Asia and Mongolia of the European Parliament, Tomas Zdechovsky, who is in Turkmenistan on a working visit, which took place in the Mejlis.
Activization of inter-parliamentary cooperation became a point of issue. The special emphasis was made on importance of work on legislative maintenance of agreements reached lately between Turkmenistan and EU.
During the meeting perspective areas of interaction in trade and economic, transport-communication, power, humanitarian and cultural spheres were considered. Besides it, the expediency of adjustment of exchange of technological and information resources was underlined.
According to article 48 of the Electoral Code of Turkmenistan, work in in election committees in the settlement of Aba Annayev of Kyarizek etrap of the city of Arkadag on registration of candidates for elections of members of Gengesh, which will take place on July 23 of the year, which is passing under the motto “The happy youth with Arkadag Serdar” proceeds.
All nominated candidates - skilled experts working in various branches of economy, enjoying the respect among population.
At Magtymguly National institute of language, literature and manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan a solemn meeting on the occasion of transfer to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a two-volume book as gift “Magtymguly Pyragynyň goşgular diwany” (the Collection of poems of Makhtumkuli Fragi) from the Spiritual leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei took place.
Heads and scientists of Magtymguly National institute of language, literature and manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan as well as representatives of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan took part in the event.
Speakers gave special attention to issues of international cooperation in study of cultural heritage and national values that have a huge value in the context of preparation for solemn celebration of the 300th birthday anniversary of the great thinker and poet-classic Makhtumkuli Fragi.
In the Mukam Palace of the State Culture Centre, a solemn opening of the Week of Culture-2023 took place. The annual large-scale forum initiated by Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was dated to Day of workers of culture and art as well as poetry of Makhtumkuli Fragi. Its purpose - preservation, deep study and wide popularisation of spiritual property of the nation, stimulation of professional growth of workers of creative spheres, search of new talents, increase of cultural level of population.
Within the Week, which reflects a many-sided palette of Turkmen culture, concerts of masters of art and young singers and musicians, performances of national performers, folklore-dancing groups, exhibitions of products of painting, sculpture, arts and crafts, printed production and museum pieces, photos, film displays, evenings of poetry were organized. At the national music-drama theatre named after Makhtumkuli the first night of the opera “Arkach” took place.
The program of creative review includes also the meeting of museum experts and methodical courses on study of world experience of perfection of restoration of museum values, archaeological finds with use of the latest technologies, the international scientific conference devoted to protection of monuments of history and culture of Turkmenistan and many other things.
On June 24, the national music-drama theatre named after Makhtumkuli hosted an opening ceremony of the Week of culture of Turkic states.
The program of the action dated for the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY included concerts of creative, folklore and dancing groups, musicians and opera singers, exhibitions of photos and painting products, joint representations and other actions.
It is deeply symbolical that today the theme of high spirituality and culture has got a topical and powerful significance. As was underlined in the welcoming message of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to participants of the Week of culture held in Ashgabat, development of culture substantially promotes unity of our society, increase of patriotism in the hearts of citizens.
Thus, based upon the richest historical experience and national traditions, Turkmenistan under the leadership of the head of the state realises the policy aimed at the strengthening of sovereignty, stable social and economic development of the country, increase of well-being of people, promotion of constructive international relations, and augmentation of authority of our native fatherland on the world scene.
