A wheat-harvesting season was given a start in our country on June 2. During the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which took place on May 26, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov blessed the start of an important agricultural campaign and wished daykhans new labour successes in fields of the country. According to it, wheat growers of Akhal, Lebap and Mary velayats started the harvesting and agriculturists of Balkan and Dashoguz velayats will also join them on June 9.

By a noble tradition, honoured elders blessed the wheat-harvesting season in places by reading prayers for wellbeing and prosperity of our fatherland and all Turkmen people. Having cut first wheat ears with words “Çäjiňe bereket!” (“Rich harvest to you!”), aksakals handed symbolical sheaves to combine operators.

This year Turkmen grain-growers will produce 1 million 400 thousand tons of grain, including in Akhal velayat - 400, Mary - 345, Lebap - 310, Dashoguz - 265 and Balkan - 80 thousand tons from 690 thousand hectares of land which was sown with winter grain crops. The basic part of agricultural areas was sown with high-yielding varieties of food wheat, in particular, such, as “Sähraýy”, “Ýolöten-3”, “Juwan”, “Ýolöten-1”, “Miras”, “Berkarar”, “Garaşsyzlyk” and “Bitarap”.

Across the country combine harvesters, modern high-efficiency machinery, which, operating round the clock will be involved in the harvest season-2023, will help farmers quickly and lost-free to reap a rich crop.

During the harvesting season, hundred mobile mechanical-repair brigades will also serve round the clock grain-growers to supply them with all necessary things - fuel, fuels and lubricants, spare parts for machinery. In field camps for machine operators, drivers and other workers participating in the wheat-harvesting season, appropriate living conditions are created performance of workers of culture and art and mobile points of sale will be arranged.

Trucks will ensure transportation of wheat to reception points, barns and grain elevators. Laboratories, where experts of “Türkmenstandartlary” Main State Service should define the quality of arriving grain, were prepared by the start of harvesting season.

In commemoration of today's event at the edge of wheat fields - in venues of celebrations on the occasion of the start of wheat harvesting season - exhibitions where various agricultural produce, bakery products, modern agricultural machinery are displayed, were organised. Performance of singers, dancing and folklore groups of velayats also took place there.
