Arkadag is a new city on the generous Turkmen land, located 30 kilometers southwest of Ashgabat. It grew up in one of the ancient places, in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag, where the glorious history of our ancestors began. The decision to build it, taken in accordance with the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, has become one of the brightest manifestations of the dynamic development of Turkmenistan.

Arkadag city, designed to become an adornment of the Turkmen land, was officially founded on April 10, 2019. And by the end of 2022, a significant part of the first stage of construction was at the final stage. Today, when all the greatness of the most modern Smart City is so clearly felt, it is doubtless that with its unique appearance it reflects the achievements of independent neutral Turkmenistan in the era of its modern history. Hence the close attention, concern of the Hero-Arkadag to the construction of the new city, visits to its construction sites, specific comments and instructions to improve building.

Arkadag city is intended to become a major scientific, educational, cultural and international center of our country. As it is known, its construction is carried out on the basis of advanced methods in the field of architecture and urban planning, with the practical implementation of high environmental standards and “green” technologies. At this point, for the first time in national history, Arkadag city was assigned a special legal status – a city of state significance.

As if by magic, in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag, the new city has acquired visible outlines. The scale of its construction, white marble palaces, surrounded by a green belt of trees, and on the outskirts – plantations of grapes and fruit trees, cause admiration. The mass plantings taken place in recent years have become a symbol of diligence and sincere love of the Turkmen people for their native land. The vineyard planted in October last year by the participants of the seminar “Organic melon growing and its contribution to the environment” is particularly impressive in the suburbs of Arkadag consisting of more than 500 seedlings of the “gara kişmiş” variety.

The appearance of a new city on the map of our country is of great interest in the world community, its admiration for the uniqueness of this city, which fully meets the high standards of modern world urbanism. And how one cannot admire the city, which is equally gorgeous both in the bright brilliance of the sun’s rays and in the fascinating glow of the night lights!

Night Arkadag is a magical fairy tale of lights. The streets are brightly lit with evening lights, the illumination of which increases many times due to multi-color illuminations on the facades of palaces and high-rise buildings.

It is enough to walk along the streets at night, admiring the harmony of magnificent architecture and lighting, to make sure that Arkadag is a young city that best meets the innovative needs of youth. All its facilities are aimed at ensuring a comfortable life for the younger generation, educating young Turkmen citizens on the basis of national and universal spiritual values. It is symbolic that the opening of Arkadag city will take place in a year with motto “Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar”.

Arkadag city clearly testifies that its architectural appearance reflects the rapid socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and the centuries-old rich historical and cultural traditions of the Turkmen people.

Walking along the streets of the night Arkadag, you notice that the architectural appearance of the city has a significant potential for educating young people with high patriotic qualities that call for strengthening and multiplying the achievements of our country.

Here in front of us in the light of night lights is the Pedagogical Secondary Vocational School named after Berdimuhamed Annaev. Future personnel for educational institutions will receive secondary vocational education in it. Naming after a legendary personality the educational institution will be a high incentive for future teachers to study, work and serve the Homeland like the great patriot, talented teacher Berdimuhamed Annaev.

Specialized School of Arts named after Sahy Jepbarov, located next to the Children’s Art School named after Shukur bakhshi and the State Drama Theatre named after Aman Gulmammedov, shines in the light of lanterns and a rainbow of illumination. These names are inscribed in gold letters in the history of Turkmen culture. Their assignment to educational institutions and the theater testifies to the high reverence and perpetuation of the names of those who made a special, huge contribution to the development of our country. For young people, this is an opportunity to comprehend the high spirit of the Turkmen people with the example of outstanding personalities.
