The past week brought new evidence of successful implementation of the economic strategy of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in accordance with which large-scale programs and projects are being successfully implemented to ensure the further development of all spheres of life in the Motherland, increase the welfare of the people, and develop constructive mutually beneficial international cooperation.

The course of seasonal field work in the regions of the country was considered at a working meeting held by the head of state via the digital system on February 20.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to accelerate the pace of work to prepare cotton fields for sowing, to provide tenants with high-quality seeds. In accordance with the norms of agricultural technology, it is necessary to carry out proper care of wheat fields, to prepare the land for planting early potatoes and other vegetable crops.

At the same time, issues of rational use of water resources, including the uninterrupted supply of agricultural fields with irrigation water, should be kept in the spotlight.

The heads of administrations of the velayats were also instructed to regularly monitor the quality of work at construction sites for social and industrial purposes, provided for by the Program for the socio-economic development of the country.

On February 21, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Natalya Gherman, who is completing her mission as the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Central Asia and Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA).

During the meeting, the successful activities of the Center for the promotion of preventive diplomacy, the creation of new formats of interaction and the implementation of specific programs in the region were noted.

The head of state thanked N. Gherman for her great personal contribution to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN and congratulated her on her appointment as Executive Director of the Executive Directorate of the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee.

Expressing confidence that the potential of the Center will continue to be in demand in such areas as counteracting modern challenges and threats, ensuring security, stability and sustainable development in the region and adjacent areas, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed the continued commitment of the Turkmen side to active joint work with the UN in good for world peace and prosperity.

It should be noted that topical issues and vectors for further development, the established close, fruitful cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNRCCA were also discussed during the meeting of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Central Asia, the head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia by Natalia Gherman.

The meeting with the head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Natalya Gherman, who is completing her mission in Turkmenistan, was also held in the Mejlis. The results of joint activities and prospects for cooperation were also discussed during the meeting of the diplomat with women leaders working in various fields.

On February 22, negotiations were held in Manama between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who arrived the day before on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.

Prior to the start of the top level negotiations, the head of Turkmenistan visited the Bahrain Economic Development Council. A presentation was organized for the distinguished guest, which allows to get a visual idea of the Bahrain Economic Development Council and the specifics of its work, investment projects implemented in the country and existing opportunities for cooperation.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is always open for fruitful cooperation with Bahrain and its business circles.

On behalf of the Bahraini side, the interest in cooperation with our country, which has a solid potential and has proven to be a reliable and responsible business partner, was also confirmed.

Then, high-level bilateral talks were held at the Al-Gudaibiya Palace, during which President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa praised the established interstate relations.

The parties discussed priority issues of bilateral cooperation, expressing readiness for its further intensification in all areas.

Focusing on the prospects for trade and economic partnership, the heads of the two states also stressed the importance of interaction in the humanitarian and cultural sphere as an integral factor in the rapprochement of the peoples of Turkmenistan and Bahrain.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited the King and Crown Prince, Prime Minister of Bahrain to visit Turkmenistan in the near future. The invitation was gratefully accepted.

The President of Turkmenistan and the King of Bahrain presented each other with memorable gifts.

In the presence of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the ceremony of signing bilateral documents was held.

Among them: the Agreement on air communication between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain; Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of crafts and traditions related to heritage; Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Academy of Diplomatic Sciences named after Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain; Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain on cooperation in the field of maritime transport; Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain on cooperation in the field of railway transport; Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain on cooperation in the field of general, technical and higher education; Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain on cooperation in the field of standardization, certification, accreditation and metrology; Program of cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Department of Culture and Antiquities of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of culture for 2023-2027; Agreement on cooperation between the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Bahrain Development Bank.

The certificate of a partner in the Global Sea-Air Logistics Hub, according to which, based on the mutual desire to increase trade and economic relations, the Kingdom of Bahrain grants our country the status of a partner within this Hub, was transferred to the Turkmen side.

As a result of the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, a Joint Communiqué was adopted.

At the end of the signing ceremony, King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa announced that for his great personal contribution to the strengthening and development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, the creative policy pursued that contributes to maintaining peace, stability and security on a regional and international scale, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov He was awarded the highest award of the Kingdom of Bahrain - the Order named after Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa of the first degree.

In a solemn atmosphere, to the applause of those present, the King of Bahrain presented this especially honorable award to the head of Turkmenistan and wished new outstanding success in his responsible state activities.

In turn, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that the bilateral partnership has a solid potential, including in the trade and economic sphere and through the private sector, and proposed the creation of a joint Business Council, as well as holding exhibitions of entrepreneurs of the two countries.

Speaking about the importance of strengthening traditional humanitarian and cultural ties, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also spoke in favor of stimulating bilateral cooperation in the field of culture and sports.

Having expressed sincere gratitude to King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for the honor rendered - awarding the Order named after Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa of the first degree, the head of state stressed that he considers this high award as a sign of deep respect for Turkmenistan and its people, a visible symbol of indestructibility these bonds of friendship and brotherhood between our countries.

On the same day President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. took place in the royal palace “Safiriya”.

The heads of the two states noted with satisfaction the productive nature of the negotiations held and their focus on achieving specific goals, confirming the mutual intention of the parties to bring the Turkmen-Bahraini relations to a new level that meets the realities of the time.

The topic of the development of horse breeding, which has centuries-old traditions in Turkmenistan and Bahrain, became the subject of an interested discussion.

A demonstration of purebred Arabian horses, as well as horses of other breeds, including the famous Akhal-Teke horses, was organized for the distinguished guest at the equestrian ground located on the territory of the Palace.

In recognition of the merits in strengthening interstate cooperation and contribution to the development of primordial horse breeding traditions, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was presented with a gift of two beautiful Arabian horses.

The head of Turkmenistan thanked the King of Bahrain, noting the prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation between specialists in this field.

On the same day, the head of the Turkmen state visited the National Museum of the Kingdom of Bahrain, where he got acquainted with the multifaceted exposition dedicated to the ancient history of the Kingdom of Bahrain, its culture and art.

Having completed the program of the official visit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proceeded to the Bahrain International Airport, from where he departed for his homeland.

On February 24, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via the digital system, at which certain issues of the further socio-economic development of the country were discussed.

The topics discussed included the activities of the Parliament to improve the Turkmen legislation, the course of the election campaign for the election of deputies of the Mejlis, members of the velayat, etrap, city halk maslahaty and Gengeshes.

It was reported on the activities for the rational use of energy resources, seasonal field work, the implementation of the state strategy for environmental protection and ensuring environmental well-being, further improvement and improvement of the architectural and urban appearance of Ashgabat, modernization of the textile industry, and an increase in the volume of import-substituting products.

Information was provided on preparations for significant and festive dates of the calendar in the first month of spring, as well as for the planned international competition of scientific works among young people “High Technologies and Innovative Developments” and International Internet Olympiads in a number of universities in our country.

In addition, it was reported on the development of a draft Action Plan for the development of international cooperation aimed at attracting high and innovative technologies to the economy of Turkmenistan for 2023-2024.

As noted, in this context, a number of proposals have been prepared, including on improving the relevant legislation, studying the best international practices in the field of creating high-tech centers, and modernizing the system of specialized education.

At the same time, it is proposed to create in our country an International Complex of Innovations and a business school on high technologies, in order to stimulate contacts with companies specializing in this area, to hold an international business forum, as well as together with the UNDP Office in Turkmenistan and the OSCE Center in Ashgabat organize Technology Week.

During the meeting, information was also heard on the ongoing work aimed at the successful solution of the tasks outlined in the Program for the Development of Transport Diplomacy of the President of Turkmenistan for 2022-2025. In particular, it was reported about the measures taken related to the inclusion of the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi in the list of “Green Ports” of the world, as well as obtaining the international certificate “EcoPort”.

At the meeting, the head of state signed a number of documents. Among them are the Decree on the transfer of the Service for Control over the Use of Petroleum Products of the Türkmennebitönümleri Department to the direct jurisdiction of the State Concern Türkmennebit, the Decree “On the zoning of crops and the production of products by velayats in 2023” and “On planting trees in Turkmenistan in 2023”, as well as the Order, according to which, on the eve of the March 8th holiday, on behalf of the head of state, women of the country will be presented with traditional cash gifts.

Turning to other events of the past week, we note that on February 20, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the capital's Maslahat köşgi Palace held a meeting with a member of the family of the sheikhs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Faisal bin Nasser bin Hamad Al-Thani, who arrived in visit our country.

During the conversation, it was stated that the Turkmen-Qatari cooperation is developing in the fields of energy, transport and communications, industry, agriculture, and high technologies. In particular, it was noted that new opportunities are opening up for building up investment partnerships. Among the most promising areas of cooperation was the fuel and energy complex.

It was also emphasized that the cultural and humanitarian sphere is an integral part of the traditionally friendly interstate dialogue.

Sheikh Faisal bin Nasser bin Hamad Al-Thani invited Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to visit the State of Qatar at any time convenient for him.

On February 25, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the President of the country, made a working trip to the city of Arkadag, Akhal velayat, during which he got acquainted with the projects and schemes of facilities planned for construction as part of the second phase of the construction of a new center of the region, and their location

As the Hero-Arkadag emphasized, it is necessary to approach the opening of the first stage of the construction of this city with great responsibility, that the high goals of the Renaissance era of the new era of a powerful state, the happy life of the people, confidently moving to new heights of the development of the Fatherland, should be reflected in the celebrations.

Last week, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairwoman of the Mejlis G. Mammedova received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic Elvis Antonio Alama Laura.

A thorough exchange of views took place on a wide range of issues of Turkmen-Dominican cooperation, which is being successfully built both in a bilateral and multilateral format, primarily within the framework of major international organizations.

The nomination of candidates within the framework of the election campaign for the election of deputies of the Mejlis, members of the velayat, etrap and city halk maslahaty and Gengeshes has been completed in Turkmenistan. Currently, the registration of candidates continues, and their meetings with voters will begin in the coming days.

Monitoring of the course of the pre-election process will be carried out by both national observers and specially invited representatives of various international structures.

Thus, the events of the past week were yet another confirmation of the growing dynamics of the development of international cooperation of Turkmenistan, the effectiveness of the foreign policy strategy and domestic socially oriented policy pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the name of world peace, happiness and well-being of his native people.
