Prospects for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in all key areas were discussed during a telephone conversation on February 7, 2023, between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

After exchanging greetings, the Hero-Arkadag and the head of the friendly state warmly and cordially congratulated each other on a significant event - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, addressing the best wishes to the peoples of the two countries.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted with satisfaction that relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, demonstrating a common desire for progress and development, are systematically filled with new content.

In this regard, the high level of interaction between the two countries in the political sphere, which is distinguished by constructiveness, closeness or coincidence of approaches on key issues of world and regional politics, was especially emphasized.

As stated, a solid contractual and legal base of Turkmen-Uzbek relations has been developed to date, numbering about 300 international documents. They cover a variety of areas, which, of course, indicates a huge potential for joint activities in both traditional and new areas of partnership.

Bilateral economic ties demonstrate good dynamics, cooperation in the fuel and energy, transport and logistics and agricultural sectors is successfully expanding.

A clear evidence of the mutual will of the parties to strengthen good neighborly relations of friendship and brotherhood was the free transfer of liquefied gas to the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the Order of the President of Turkmenistan today, as well as the entry of ambulances produced in Uzbekistan into our country.

During the conversation, it was emphasized that inter-parliamentary and inter-regional contacts are distinguished by intensity, which are designed to help strengthen Turkmen-Uzbek relations. Cooperation in the cultural, scientific and educational fields is also on the rise, which serves as a bridge for further rapprochement between our peoples, strengthening the ties of age-old friendship and good neighborliness between them.

At the end of the telephone conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished each other good health, inexhaustible energy and great success in responsible state activities, and well-being and further prosperity to the peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
