Today, in commemoration of the 31st anniversary of the Homeland’s sacred independence, celebrations were held at the International Akhalteke Equestrian Complex, which were attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
… From early morning, the atmosphere of a large Turkmen festivity had been reigning at the International Akhalteke Equestrian Complex, located in the picturesque Kopetdag foothills that have become the venue for holiday competitions.
On the significant occasion, an exhibition on the famous Akhalteke horses, which personify in folk art such eternal concepts as beauty, harmony, fidelity, friendship, grace, stamina, will, courage, honor, and faithfulness, was launched at the complex. The images of “heavenly” horses are described in ancient legends, traditions and destans, as well as in the preserved historical documents of foreign authors who admired Turkmen horses.
On the way, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited a large-scale exhibition, which also included museum values. The capital city and all five velayats of the country organized their expositions therein.
The President of Turkmenistan went up the central tribune of the International Akhalteke Equestrian Complex.
Then the start was given to the holiday races. National tournaments held on a regular basis not only increase the prestige of this sport, but they also contribute to the involvement of young people in it.
Three-year-old horses competed in the first three heats to a distance of 1600 meters.
In the starting heat, the best result, 1 minute 48.2 seconds, was achieved by the bay horse Dovran owned by the Akhalteke Horse Breeding Complex of the President of Turkmenistan that was ridden by jockey O. Amangeldiyev.
In the second heat, the bay horse Byasleshik owned by the Ministry of National Security, with rider O. Yalkabov, was the first to finish in 1 minute 50.5 seconds.
In the third heat, the best result,- 1 minute 49.4 seconds, was achieved by the beautiful bay horse Gunay owned by the Akhalteke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan that was ridden by M. Kichigulov.
In the rest of the heats, four-year-aged and older horses aged competed.
The leader in the fourth heat over the distance of 1800 meters was the bay horse Yantar owned by the “Türkmenaragatnaşyk” Agency, which result was 2 minutes 05.8 seconds. Its jockey was D. Berdimammedov.
The first in the fifth heat over the same distance with a result of 2 minutes 02.0 seconds was the bay horse Novruz owned by the Akhalteke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, ridden by jockey G. Begliev.
In the sixth 2200 meters distance race, the fastest was the bay horse Yagmyr owned by the Ashgabat city Khyakimlik that was ridden by jockey B. Begliev. The result was 2 minutes 36.20 seconds.
In the final, seventh heat over the same distance, there was a struggle for the main prize, established by the President of Turkmenistan. The first to finish with a result of 2 minutes 31.3 seconds was the cream-colored horse Bezirgen owned by the Akhalteke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan. The jockey was B. Agamyradov.
Then the awards presentation ceremony took place. The winners of 1-6 heats were awarded 100.000 manats each. The rider who won the seventh race received a prize of 300.000 manats, established by the President of Turkmenistan.
At the end of the celebrations at the International Akhalteke Equestrian Complex, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly parted with everyone and left the venue.
