Dashoguz, Balkan. The grain harvesting campaign in Turkmenistan is steadily gaining momentum. Today, in accordance with the schedule approved by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, farmers in the Dashoguz and Balkan velayats have started harvesting winter crops, where, taking into account the climatic conditions, the harvest, as always, starts later.

This year, in the northern region, farmers of the “Magtymguly” dayhan association of the Gorogly etrap received the honorable right to start harvesting grain. Wheat here was born to fame: golden ears filled with ripe grains. The elders, according to the good folk tradition that has developed over the centuries, offered up a prayer to the Almighty for a successful harvest. Then the venerable aksakals, having received sickles from the hands of the young generation, mowed down the ripe ears of wheat with the words “Harmanyňyza bereket, çäjiňize bereket!” - “May the Harman of your bread be abundant!” and handed over the symbolic sheaves to the combine operators.

The grain field of the Dashoguz velayat is 145,000 hectares, from which farmers will have to harvest 265,000 tons of grain. Local grain growers preferred high-yielding varieties of wheat that have proven themselves well in the soil and climatic conditions of the region.

Combine harvesters “John Deere” (USA) and “CLAAS” (Germany) are also involved in the 2022 harvest. Agricultural machinery is operated by experienced machine operators, many of whom have completed refresher courses.

During the harvest period, mobile repair and mechanical teams will serve the grain growers around the clock, supplying them with everything they need - fuel, oils and lubricants, spare parts. For machine operators, drivers and other workers involved in the mowing, a mandatory briefing on labor protection and fire safety was carried out. Proper living conditions have been created for them at the field camps, performances by cultural figures and the work of mobile outlets will be organized.

Delivery of wheat from the fields to the receiving points will be provided by trucks. After drying and pre-cleaning, part of the grain will be left under the seed material, the rest of the wheat will be processed into flour, and also laid down for long-term storage in elevators. The laboratories of the Main State Service “Turkmenstandartlary” are also in full readiness, the specialists of which, using the latest equipment, will quickly determine the quality of grain coming from the fields.

Remind that the state order for grain growers in the western region of the country is 80,000 tons of grain. In the Balkan velayat, 50,000 hectares of land have been allocated for winter wheat. To obtain a rich harvest, agrotechnical standards were strictly observed here and the necessary measures were taken when caring for winter crops.

In the dayhan farm “Parav”, which was put into sowing circulation along the Garagum River, in the Serdar etrap of the Balkan velayat, the start of the braid was given with the participation of respectable elders.

In order to effectively use each harvesting day, the velayat carried out appropriate preparatory work. Dozens of grain harvesters entered the fields, to ensure the uninterrupted operation of which a network of mechanical repair bases has been deployed, provided in sufficient quantities with spare parts, oils and lubricants, etc.

The beginning of the harvest in the northern and western regions was preceded by production seminars with the participation of representatives of the velayat and etrap hakimliks, experienced agronomists, machine operators, and tenant farmers.

The focus was on the issues of proper organization of the harvesting, ensuring a clear and well-coordinated work of the entire grain harvesting conveyor.

The participants of the seminars expressed their gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the constant concern for rural workers, the successfully implemented reforms aimed at the systematic technical re-equipment and modernization of the agro-industrial complex, the conditions created for a decent life and fruitful work of farmers who make a significant contribution to the prosperity of the Motherland.

As part of the celebrations on the occasion of a significant event - the sending of the first tons of golden grain by Dashoguz and Balkan grain growers to the Harman of the Motherland - at the edge of the wheat fields, exhibitions of products of the country's agro-industrial complex were launched, where samples of modern agricultural machinery were also demonstrated. In the elegantly decorated yurts installed here, festive treats were offered to those gathered.

A wonderful musical gift for the grain growers was prepared by performers of pop and folk songs, dance and folklore groups. Athletes demonstrated their skills.

This year, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov set the task for the country's agricultural industry to harvest 1,400,000 tons of wheat.
