Caring for children - the younger generation, with whom the brightest hopes for the future have been associated from time immemorial, has been and remains a priority direction of the state policy of Turkmenistan, carried out in accordance with international standards and highly humanistic traditions and principles of our people.
A characteristic national feature - to give all the best to children, to surround them with all possible care and love - is clearly manifested in modern Turkmen society, determining its social and spiritual health. Across the country, modern preschool and secondary educational institutions, creative centers equipped with innovative technologies, sports, recreation and rehabilitation educational complexes have been built and continue to be built, where children with health problems can receive a decent education.
Fully aware that it is in childhood that the fundamental qualities of the individual, his moral guidelines and values are laid, the state provides all possible assistance and support to children in need of care.
Today, this humane tradition is embodied in legal guarantees for ensuring and protecting the rights and legitimate interests of the child in a system of effective economic measures, targeted social actions aimed at fully involving orphans and children left without parental care in the social environment, preparing for an independent life, educating them in high moral qualities, patriotism and citizenship.
As is known, for these purposes, at the initiative of the Hero-Arkadag, in March 2021, a special Charitable Foundation was created to help children in need of guardianship, which, in accordance with the Resolution of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, was named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
For a relatively short period of its existence, the Fund has already carried out large-scale work to achieve its goals and objectives.
So, last year, new ambulances equipped with all the necessary equipment were allocated for the pediatric departments of hospitals in etraps and cities of the velayats of the country.
The regular practice also included the allocation of funds from the Charitable Fund for various operations for children in need of guardianship in medical institutions of the capital and velayats of the country, payment of treatment costs and the purchase of appropriate medical supplies.
During this time, operations on the heart, joints and eyes were financed for 25 orphans and children from low-income families. Prosthetic products, hearing aids and wheelchairs were also purchased.
Recently, in the best clinics of the country - in the Center for Maternal and Child Health in Lebap velayat, the Children's Hospital in Mary velayat and the Center for Maternal and Child Health in Ashgabat - 10 more orphans and children from low-income families were operated on, financed by the Charitable Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.
Now all ten patients are under the supervision of the best medical specialists.
Currently, medical institutions are preparing children with congenital pathology for operations on the heart and blood vessels. Financing of these operations is also planned at the expense of the Charity Fund.
