Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, with the participation of some Deputy Chairpersons of the Cabinet of Ministers, has held a working meeting on the progress of work carried out in the fuel and energy complex of the country. During the meeting the objectives for further economic development of sovereign Turkmenistan were discussed.

Opening the working meeting, the head of state focused on the importance of expanding export routes for the supply of Turkmen natural gas and said that he had decided to discuss the priority goals in this area.

In this regard, the leader of the nation gave the floor to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Sh. Abdrahmanov.

The Deputy Prime Minister reported that due to the energy policy being successfully implemented under the wise leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Turkmenistan is developing effective partnerships with a number of countries in this field.

The Deputy Prime Minister assured that in order to successfully fulfill the instructions of the head of state to increase the amount of Turkmen natural gas sent to world markets and expand international gas pipeline routes, coordinated work of the relevant agencies will be arranged.

Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov reported on the work to strengthen the economic power of the native land and promote sustainable development of industries. It was pointed out that every day of the Prosperous Epoch of the Powerful State marks memorable and exciting events that testify to the successful implementation of positive initiatives for comprehensive development of the Turkmen state.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov specified that the work ongoing in this area in our country, which has huge reserves of hydrocarbon resources, must be carried out in accordance with the economic policy of our state. At present, it is necessary to pay special attention to enhancing the role of the fuel and energy complex in the national economy and strengthening its material and technical base.

The working meeting was continued by the report delivered by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the international initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan are broadly supported among the world community, which confirms their focus on the interests of all mankind.

The positions of Turkmenistan concerning the relevant issues, which were repeatedly set forth by the leader of the nation during the UN General Assembly sessions and other international forums, are specified in the UN Resolutions “Reliable and stable transit of energy resources and its role in ensuring sustainable development and international cooperation”, adopted in 2008 and 2013 on initiative of the head of Turkmen state. This testifies to the high prestige of our Homeland and its leader in the world arena, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted.

Speaking about the progressive strengthening of the status of Turkmenistan as a global energy power, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the key role of the fuel and energy complex in this process. In this regard, the importance of a systematic build-up of wide ranging international cooperation was especially emphasized.

- The initiatives promoted by Turkmenistan are designed to contribute to the achievement of the high goals of the third millennium and the successful solution to the targets identified in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by the Community of Nations, the head of state emphasized. At the same time, the leader of the nation emphasized the need to further strengthen the position of our country in the international space.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the successful implementation of large-scale projects designed for the fuel and energy industry must be approached very responsibly and comprehensively.

At the end of the meeting, the head of state wished the participants sound health, family wellbeing and great success in their work.
