Today there was a telephone conversation between the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Welcoming each other, the leaders of the two countries expressed satisfaction with the high level and progressive dynamics of the development of traditionally friendly interstate relations, which are a true example of trust, mutual understanding and respect.

Taking the presented opportunity, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov поблагодарил President Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked for the warm welcome and hospitality provided to the Turkmen government delegation led by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which has recently visited the Republic of Uzbekistan on a working visit. During the visit, a number of productive meetings were held with Uzbek counterparts on priority areas of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic spheres and other areas in the context of the implementation of earlier agreements and existing long-term agreements.

The Turkmen leader also noted that he warmly remembers his official visit to Tashkent in October last year, during which he held meaningful talks in the open, trusting atmosphere. As a result, important agreements have been reached and a solid package of documents has been signed, which will undoubtedly serve the benefit of the two fraternal peoples.

During the telephone conversation, the heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan exchanged views on key issues of bilateral partnership based on the principles of good neighborliness, taking into account the current realities and the situation in the region and the world. It was stressed that the effectiveness of the Turkmen-Uzbek dialogue is due to the common interests and the presence of a strong political will to deepen cooperation in all its areas.

It was stressed that the accumulated rich experience of many years and good traditions of Turkmen-Uzbek partnership are now enriched in accordance with the new realities and objective development needs of the two states. It was reaffirmed by the determination of the parties and further to take all necessary steps for the successful implementation of the huge potential of mutually beneficial cooperation.

In this regard, the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed his gratitude to the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his great personal contribution to the progressive development of constructive Turkmen-Uzbek dialogue.

At the end of the telephone conversation, expressing confidence that the continued friendly, good-neighborly interstate relations will continue to expand and deepen for the common good, the heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan wish each other good health and success, and the fraternal peoples of the two countries - prosperity and wellbeing.
