In our country, under the leadership of the nation’s leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, large-scale work is being carried out to protect public health, develop the healthcare sector and the medical industry, prevent infectious diseases and eliminate them, strengthen a favorable sanitary and epidemiological situation, particularly taking into account the current difficult situation in the world caused by coronavirus infection. In this regard, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry has registered the Sputnik Light Vaccine and issued a corresponding certificate for its use on the territory of our country.

It should be noted that earlier Turkmenistan became one of the first countries to approve the use of Russian Vaccines – Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. The current registration of Sputnik Light is also the result of a close partnership of Turkmen doctors with the leading centers of virology of the Russian Federation in the field of countering the spread of infectious diseases.

Currently, the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus Sputnik Light has been registered in more than 15 countries and work related to its registration continues in 30 more.

As the Russian Direct Investment Fund noted, the Sputnik Light efficiency indicator is about 80 percent higher than the effectiveness of other vaccines that require the use of two components.

Medical diplomacy, implemented under the leadership of the nation’s leader, promotes the activation of fruitful international cooperation in the field of healthcare. Turkmenistan, working closely with the World Health Organization and other specialized UN structures, has accumulated a wealth of experience in the field of disease prevention and control.

As part of the implementation of the Saglyk State Program and other large-scale programs in all regions of Turkmenistan, the process of forming a modern health infrastructure continues. Along with this, the production of masks, protective equipment and disinfection, as well as protective suits for doctors and specialized workers has been established. It should be particularly noted that currently the country is vaccinating citizens against influenza, and this work continues.

Thanks to the attention of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the development of the domestic healthcare sector, the measures taken to protect the health of the population are yielding positive results.
