The fifth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation was held today at the Ministry of Energy through the digital system.
The commission was attended by heads and representatives of leading ministries, industry departments and business circles of the two friendly countries.
A wide range of issues related to the implementation of existing interstate agreements, as well as priority areas for the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan were put on the agenda.
As it was emphasized, the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkmenistan in June of this year gave a new impetus to the multifaceted dialogue to sign a package of important intergovernmental agreements and other documents supplemented the regulatory framework of cooperation between the two countries.
Mutual interest was expressed in strengthening contacts in industry, transport, agriculture, the fuel and energy and other sectors in every possible way.
In particular, proposals were made to work together on a transport corridor destined to connect our countries with access to the Caspian Sea. In this regard, the Turkmen side invited the Kyrgyz partners to consider the possibility of using the capacities of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport for the transportation of goods in the East-West-East direction.
Sports and tourism, youth policy were identified among other vectors of long-term cooperation.
Following the results of its work, the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation signed a corresponding protocol.
