Today President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Chingiz oglu Jabbarov.
Expressing gratitude to the head of state for the time allotted for the meeting, the guest highly appreciated the modern achievements of Turkmenistan, confidently following the path of progress and prosperity and having achieved enormous international prestige.
Welcoming the head of the Ministry of Economy of the brotherly country, the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan intends to continue to make efforts aimed at enhancing the traditions of good-neighborliness, as well as fruitful cooperation across its entire spectrum.
In continuation of the meeting, the achieved high level of interstate relations and great prospects for their further development, taking into account the existing potential and common priorities of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, were stated. In this context, the head of state and his guest emphasized the need to intensify the established fruitful ties in a number of key areas, including in the trade, economic, fuel and energy spheres, in the transport sector, in which interaction is traditionally of paramount importance.
Continuing the theme Mikayil Chingiz oglu Jabbarov noted that the good personal relations established between the leaders of the two countries also give grounds for optimistic forecasts regarding the further strengthening of interstate relations.
Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of building up cooperation in the energy sector. Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, underlined the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, are self-sufficient states, rich in hydrocarbon resources, and advocate the diversification of their supplies to world markets on a parity basis, taking into account the interests of producers, transit countries and consumers. Speaking about the prospects for the development of the transport and communication network in Central Asia and its effective integration into the international transport infrastructure, the head of Turkmenistan noted the need to take joint measures in order to more widely use the potential of both states for the successful implementation of projects to form new transport corridors.
At the end of the meeting, expressing firm confidence in the successful continuation of the traditional relations of brotherhood and good neighborliness, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan wished the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the entire Turkmen people further prosperity and new impressive successes on the path of fundamental reforms and transformations.
