The next edition of the quarterly popular science magazine “Miras” of the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences has been published in Turkmen, Russian and English.
The publication begins with the Address from the President of Turkmenistan to schoolchildren, students, teachers and education workers of the independent neutral state, timed to coincide with the Day of Knowledge and Students of the country, as well as to the Turkmen people on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the sovereignty of the Homeland.
The traditional heading “Discoveries and New Developments” presents the article “Sacred Independence - the Pride of the Nation” which describes the development history of the modern Turkmen state, its grandiose achievements and successes in the international arena.
The same section contains an article “Yusuf Has Hajib and Yunus Emre on the meaning and moral power of the word” by Professor of the Aegean University F. Turkmen and Lecturer at Pamukkale University, Associate Professor S. Saglam. The publication sets out the views of the two great figures, the features of their poetic language, and describes enduring ideals through the prism of the spiritual heritage of the past. Their rich literary heritage is of great importance in educating young people in a spirit of high morality.
Interest among specialists will also be caused by the material “Khoja Ahmet Yasawi: a bright page of the intellectual consciousness of the Turkmens”. The development of national philosophy and poetics in the Middle Ages, first of all, was associated with the name of this Sufi scholar and mystic. To understand his ideological system, issues related to history, traditions of Eastern mysticism, especially Sufi philosophy are covered.
Yasawi is the founder of the poetic genre “Hikmets” (“Instructions”). They have become a model for literary followers in compiling wise sayings, upholding national ideas, as well as ideas of universal significance. Khoja Ahmet Yasawi spread the philosophical science of the Turkmens in the Middle and Near East.
In the article “The tradition of mutual assistance among the Turkmens”, placed under the heading “Interaction between cultures, peoples and civilizations”, an analysis is given of the origin of landscaping actions becoming widespread in the Prosperous Epoch of the Powerful State, which turned our Homeland into a blooming garden, and interesting customs of mutual support, which are one of the moral and spiritual values of the Turkmens, are described.
The article “From the history of the felt making art of the Turkmens” immerses readers in in ancient days. The material is based on research by scientists of the past and the present time.
The chronicle reflects the progressive peacekeeping policy being pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the successful implementation of socially focused large-scale transformations aimed at strengthening the economic power of the Homeland, and improving the people’s wellbeing.
The magazine, made at a high polygraphic level, is colorfully illustrated with reproductions of picturesque paintings and photographs by modern workers in the arts, rare archival materials and cartographic drawings.
