On October 23, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan Qian Naicheng.
Expressing gratitude for the time allotted for the meeting, the diplomat conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to the entire Turkmen people. The Chinese government attaches particular importance to strengthening comprehensive ties with Turkmenistan, which, while maintaining stable rates of socio-economic growth in this difficult time for the world economy, demonstrates fundamentally new approaches to solving pressing problems of our time, the Ambassador noted.
Thanking for the warm words, the leader of the nation addressed reciprocal sincere wishes of happiness and prosperity to the top leadership and people of the friendly country, emphasizing the special interest of Turkmenistan in strengthening traditional interaction with the states of the Asia-Pacific region and, in particular, with China, acting as a strategic partner in the implementation of important projects of regional scale.
During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the telephone conversation between the President of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China in May this year. Then the leaders of the two countries noted with satisfaction the high level of interstate dialogue achieved in recent years, expressing the interest of Turkmenistan and China in steadily building up productive cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, taking into account the accumulated rich experience of successful partnership and the existing colossal potential.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conveyed a message to the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping trough the plenipotentiary representative of the friendly country, in which he stressed that the Turkmen-Chinese relations, in the nature of a strategic partnership, are currently developing in various directions enriched with new content.
During the meeting, the leader of the nation noted the importance of the second United Nations Global Conference on Sustainable Transport held in China, expressing confidence that its results will contribute to achieving the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The President of Turkmenistan also stated that in April 2022, our country, together with the United Nations, plans to host the International Conference of Ministers of Landlocked Developing Countries.
Emphasizing the deep interest of Chinese business in strengthening its positions in the promising Turkmen market, attracting an increasing number of potential investors and companies from all over the world every year, the diplomat expressed sincere gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the support provided in this direction. In this context, a significant role is assigned to the activities of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation and bilateral business forums, which contribute to strengthening and building up effective partnership.
The humanitarian sphere was named as one of the priority vectors of interaction.
