The contest «Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy» (The most fearless turkmen dog of the year) has been held for the first time under joint celebration of National Ahalteke Horse Holiday and Turkmen Dog Holiday.

The event has been held in new complex of International Association of Turkmen Shepherd Dogs. Ten best dogs from different regions of the country, which were selected at qualification rounds, have been brought out to the stage.

Name, age, bloodline and owner were announced to the jury and public. All finalists continue their own breed line, which goes to famous ancestors, and numerous experts of the breed were able to assess features typical for thoroughbred Turkmen dogs.

The exterior of the dogs strikes with smooth lines, harmonious and proportional build. The features of the dog – massive head, powerful neck, broad chest, strong limbs and lower back, well developed respiratory system, are clearly expressed.

Numerous lovers of this unique dog were able to appreciate not only their wonderful exterior but also the boldness and training demonstrated at the competitions, during which canine specialists sends the dog along the obstacle course. Speed and accuracy are taken into account during covering of the course.

By the decision of competent jury chaired by People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Saragt Babayev, the title «Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy» was awarded to dog Akhan from the State Border Guard Service.

The prizes of the contest were awarded by Vice-premier, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber, President of International Ahalteke Equestrian Association and International Association of Turkmen Shepherd Dogs Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Special medal was put on the neck of the winner and representative of the Border Guard Service received the main prize of the President of Turkmenistan – Toyota vehicle and challenging cup.
