National Turkmen Horse Holiday and Turkmen Shepherd Dog Holiday have been celebrated in Turkmenistan together for the first time. International Ahalteke Equestrian Complex was a place of current events and celebration races.

From the morning, atmosphere of enthusiasm was reigning near International Ahalteke Equestrian Complex. Heads of the Mejlis and People’s Council of National Assembly, members of the Government of Turkmenistan, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, representatives of public organizations and mass media as well as numerous guests have gathered in this place.

Exhibition of visual, decorative and applied art, photos of magnificent ahalteke horses is expanded along the road leading to the building of the complex.

Richness and variety of carefully preserved national heritage that passed from generation to generation have been reflected in original vernissage under open sky.

Performance of bakshys and musicians, national games and sport competition with participation of strong men were organized next to traditional white tent.

Galkynysh National Equestrian Games Group, which is famous with its trimphs at the world circus art festivals and prestige international contests, demonstrates the skills of fancy horse riding.

The stands were overcrowded. Representatives of various ministries and departments, public organizations, elders and personnel of equestrian industry, representatives of mass media, numerous lovers of horse races have gathered in this place. The host announces the beginning of celebration races.

Seven races in various distances, in each of which fast horses have demonstrated their best sport features, have been held.

Tough struggle for the main prize of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov – the Akhan Prize and Challenging Cup, was in the final seventh race. Light bay Bezirgen from Ahalteke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan was the first in 1,400 meter distance. The horse ridden by master jockey B. Agamyradov showed 1 minute 32.2 seconds.

Song and music performances were organized between the races. Further, the award ceremony of winners of the races, who received the above-mentioned prizes and big money amounts, have been held. In addition, Challenging Cup of the President of Turkmenistan and Diploma have been awarded to the winner of the final race.

Winners of equestrian marathon and show jumping competitions have also been announced.
