As it was informed earlier, the registration process of candidates has been finished according to the Electoral Code under the preparation to the elections of members of the People’s Council of National Assembly of Turkmenistan.

The Central Election and Referendum Commission has registered 111 candidates, who were presented with certificates in the ceremonial atmosphere.

16 of the registered candidates were nominated by regional and Ashgabat’s People’s Councils while 95 by district and city People’s Councils. 55 sessions for nomination of the candidates have been held altogether around the country.

All candidates were nominated on alternative and equal basis. Their nomination and registration were made according to the requirements of national legislation under transparent conditions.

The biographies of 111 candidates, which are registered in the Central Commission, have been published in Türkmenistan and Neutral Turkmenistan newspapers as well as in local press.

Therefore, 111 candidates will run for 48 seats. The election campaign starts from the day of registration and finishes on the day before the elections.
