President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the solemn ceremony of laying flowers to the Monument of Independence. In the morning, members of the Government, heads of the Mejlis, military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, the Hyakim of Ashgabat, the honorary elders, representatives of public organizations, the media, students, workers of culture and arts, as well as residents of the Turkmen capital gathered together at the Monument of Independence. The presidential car arrived at the festively decorated square in front of the Monument of Independence, where the ceremony participants greeted the President of Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov walked along the carpet, along which defenders of the Fatherland were lined up, to a specially designated place on the square in front of the Independence Monument. To the strains of the National Anthem of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov laid flowers to the Monument of Independence. Following the Turkmen leader, the chairperson of the Mejlis, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, and other participants in the ceremony laid flowers to the Monument.
