Priorities of the Turkmen-Iranian cooperation in transport sphere

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov aheld online meeting with Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Eslami. It was emphasized that the foreign policy of our country prioritized the development of international relations based on the ties of friendship and mutual respect, primarily with the closest neighbors. The high level of the Turkmen-Iranian dialogue, actively developing on the principles of equality, as well as the commitment of the both states to further development of cooperation in various areas were emphasized during the meeting. Exchanging views on a number of topical issues on the bilateral agenda, in particular, trade and economic relation, a special emphasis was placed on the importance of building up partnerships in the transport and logistics sector, maintaining railway communication between the two countries. In this regard, the important role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation was underlined. Transport and communications, industry, agriculture and water management were specified among the promising spheres of cooperation.
