Outcomes of the visit of the delegation of European Regional Bureau of the World Health Organization was the subject of video conference session with representatives of the WHO Office in Copenhagen. The meeting was held in the UN building in Ashgabat. Representative of the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Health Protection and Medical Industry, heads of structural divisions and agencies of the UN, numerous journalists of local and foreign mass media have been invited to participate in the event. Head of the WHO consulting and technical mission of Kathrine Smallwood said that during the trip, the experts have visited different medical facilities of Turkmenistan, checkpoints at Turkmenistan border with Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, Turkmenbashy International Seaport, laboratories and other main places of national and regional levels. During the visit and numerous meetings, Turkmen side has introduced measures for prevention of entry and spread of coronavirus and other dangerous infections in the country, activities in the sphere of epidemiological control, laboratory diagnostics, clinical treatment of the patients, measures of prevention and infection control to the representatives of the World Health Organization, - Kathrine Smallwood noted. There is no registered confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country due to timely specific measures taken in Turkmenistan. Having expressed gratitude for big joint work carried out in these days, the sides expressed confidence in big potential of cooperation.
