The solemn ceremony of opening the Week Culture took place in the administrative center of the Dashoguz Velayat. The annual forum is held on occasion of the Day of Workers of Culture and Arts and the Poetry of Magtymguly Fraghi, which is widely celebrated in our country. The opening ceremony took place at the Gorogly Square in front of the Ruhyet Palace. Music sounded everywhere, the atmosphere of extraordinary creative enthusiasm reigned at the square. The expositions telling about the original traditions of the Turkmen people, their rich cultural heritage, and art were exhibited in oriental-style pavilions. The exhibition presented folk crafts, samples of national clothes and natural fabrics, carpets and felts, ceramics and jewelry, musical instruments, art paintings and sculptural compositions. The exposition was exhibited at the stage, built directly in front of the monument to the hero of the Turkmen epic - Gorogly, riding a fast horse. Famous theater artists, pop and folk artists, museum and library specialists, artists and poets, professional and popular folk groups took place in the festive event. Government officials, the representatives of the Ministry of Culture and sectoral departments, residents of the Dashoguz Velayat, the media, the elders and the youth attended the event. The welcoming address of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented to all those present. The celebration continued with a festive performance with the participation of masters of arts and young artists – the winners of various national creative contests, popular music groups. The concert programme included folk and modern songs, classical music, choreographic compositions. The potpourri of foreign melodies reflected the consolidating mission of art. The songs created on the poems of Magtymguly Fraghi sounded like a tribute to the great poet and thinker. Folk musicians and storytellers and, of course, famous Dashoguz bagshi presented their performances. The audience was fascinated by the extract from the “Gorogly” destan. In the afternoon, the events on occasion of the opening of the Week Culture 2020 continued in the picturesque city park “Dostluk”, where the works of fine and decorative art, as well as museum values were exhibited. The first day of the creative forum on Gorogly Square finished with a big festive concert, bringing together well-known pop singers on an open stage.
