President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution, according to which humanitarian aid cargo is sent to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Relative ministries and profile departments are assigned to provide food production to neighbouring country free of charge. This act of good will is another evidence of invariable commitment of Turkmenistan and its nation to ideals of peace and humanity. The month of Ramadan is thought to be a time of catharsis, piety and good deeds. Generosity, believe in good, readiness to help are distinguishing features of Turkmens from the old times. Following old traditions of nobility and mutual support, Turkmenistan make significant contribution to development of social and economic infrastructure of Afghanistan and establishment of peaceful life. Providing permanent support to people of neighbouring state, our country confirms its commitment to strengthening of traditional relations of goodwill and further development of cultural and humanitarian relations. Under existing bilateral agreements, Turkmenistan carries out number of projects on provision of people of friendly country with electricity and liquefied gas on beneficial terms. Local specialists build various important facilities in Afghanistan. Assistance in education of youth and training of specialists is provided. First, fruitful cooperation is carried out between neighbouring states in trade and economic, fuel and energy, transport and communication spheres. It is enough to mention such large-scale projects initiated by Leader of the National Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov like construction of transnational Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India (TAPI) gas line, high voltage power and fibre optic lines on Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan route. Beneficial geographic location of both countries is very important in realization of strategic projects of formation of new transit and transport corridors. Joint project of establishment of Afghanistan – Turkmenistan – Azerbaijan Georgia – Turkey corridor, which is to support not only to expansion of trade and economic relations between the states of the region but also to increase trade between Central and South Asia and Europe, is a bright example. Construction of railroads on the territory of Afghanistan is continued. It will connect friendly state with vast geo-economics space of Eurasian continent via Turkmenistan. Major transport and communication projects initiated by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will be priceless contribution to peaceful regulation of situation in Afghanistan, strengthening of the bases of stability and security, stable social and economic development of entire region. Dynamic development of trade and economic partnership supports further development of Afghan economy, successful solution of important social issues including those related to occupancy of the population, making positive effect on the situation in this country. activity of Intergovernmental Turkmen – Afghan commission as well as private business contacts play big role in this aspect. Cultural and humanitarian sphere, which is another factor of rapprochement of our nations, which carefully preserve national traditions, is an important vector of interstate cooperation. Positive initiatives of Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, it spolicy of peace and transparency serve to strengthening and expansion of cooperation between two states in all directions.
