International University of Humanitarian Studies and Development hosted online lecture of Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Lassina Zerbo on “25th Anniversary of Neutrality of Turkmenistan: Toward the Peace, Security and Development”. Students of the university, Institute of International Relations as well as representatives of the Foreign Ministry have been invited to the lecture. During the lecture, Lassina Zerbo highlighted that it can be confidently states that selection of model of foreign development of Turkmenistan is optimum and meets national interests, long-term goals of the world community and principles of the UN Chapter. Commitment of our country to this course is proven by active participation in activity of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Non-Alignment Movement, Commonwealth of Independent States, Islamic Conference Organization, Economic Cooperation Organization, Organization of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and other international and regional structures. The lecturer highlighted that position of Turkmenistan in matters of disarmament and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction developed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is clear and precise. In this regard, Lassina Zerbo gave high appraisal to work of Turkmen state in this direction, which, having joined important international and legal documents, especially to the UN conventions of disarmament, takes active part in global processes for provision of stability and security. The fact of joining of Turkmenistan to the Treaty f creation of zone free from nuclear weapons in Central Asia among other states of the region is exemplary.
