President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received specialist – expert attached to the advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues, President of ARETI International Group of Companies Igor Makarov, headquartered in Geneva, Swiss Confederation. Highly appreciating the progressive changes in the oil and gas industry, the President of ARETI International Group of Companies underlined that Turkmenistan with its huge natural resources had won the authority as a producer of energy resources. Expressing satisfaction with the fact that our country was one of the important partners of ARETI, I. Makarov expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the support provided to strengthening business cooperation as well as an opportunity to take part in the implementation of large-scale investment projects on the development of the fuel and energy complex. The President of Turkmenistan noted that Turkmenistan was always open for constructive partnership with leading business circles. Underlining that in frames of the implementation of the national social and economic reforms, particular attention is paid to the use of modern technologies, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed satisfaction with the efficient character of business relations with ARETI. The businessman informed the President of Turkmenistan on the work done and the progress in implementing a number of projects in various spheres, including the oil and gas industry. It was underlined that the large-scale projects initiated and implemented in our country to create a multi-vector system of energy supplies to foreign markets were not only economically important for the region, but also played a significant role in enhancing international efforts to strengthen global energy security. According to the Turkmen leader, environmentally friendly advanced technologies stand as a benchmark in urban development, oil and gas sector, chemical industry, power engineering, agriculture, and in general are integral criteria of the socio-economic programmes, major international and regional projects, launched in our country. In this context, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the necessity to ensure strict control over the issues related to the provision of environmental standards and the implementation of all works according to time schedules. Thanking for the trust placed in the company, the businessman expressed confidence that the implementation of joint projects would ensure the further prosperity of Turkmenistan. As noted, ARETI will continue to take a responsible approach to fulfilling its partnership obligations. Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the field of sports, including the organization of 2021 Track Cycling World Championship and 2026 Road Cycling World Championship in our country. As noted, Turkmenistan has every opportunity to organize major international competitions at a high level and train qualified athletes, including multifunctional specialized infrastructure that meets high world standards. As a professional athlete in the past, Igor Makarov emphasized that he was pleased to contribute to the large-scale work carried out in Turkmenistan to popularize cycling. The businessman noted that he was planning to come to Ashgabat with his team of famous athletes to take part in a bicycle race dedicated to the World Cycling Day. At the end of the meeting, the confidence in the successful continuation of cooperation was expressed.
