International Weightlifting Solidarity Championship (qualification round of Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020) has started in Tashkent on February 9. Sportsmen from 37 countries participate in the competitions, which will last until February 12. Turkmenistan national team is represented by 8 athletes. Yulduz Jumabayeva, the 4th grade student of Turkmen State Institute of Physical Training and Sports, has successfully performed. In the weigh category up to 49 kg, she lifted 72 kg in snatch and won silver medal and 96 kg in clean and jerk, having won in this group. She has lifted 168 in total, which guaranteed her the second place. Seyitjan Mirzayev, the coach of sport school No. 3 of Dyanew of the General Department of Sports and Youth Affiars of Lebap Velayat has distinguished himself in the competitions. Competing in the weight category of 61 kg, he lifted 130 kg in snatch, which allowed him to take the second place. Our sportsmen lifted 150 in clean and jerk, having taken the fourth place. Having lifted 280 kg in total, our compatriot has won the bronze. 3rd grade student of Turkmen State University of Physical Training and Sports Kristina Shermetova (55 kg) has won the third place in clean and jerk and snatch disciplines with 85 and 110 kg respectively. She won the bronze medal by the result of discipline and total weight of 195 kg.
