Speaking from the rostrum of the Baku Summit of Heads of State or Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the President of Turkmenistan emphasized that Turkmenistan called for cooperation of the member states of the Movement to address climate change. In this regard, particular attention should be paid to the consolidation of efforts to implement the 2030 Global Agenda and Paris Agreement. “Here, in the capital of one of the Caspian littoral states, I would like to focus on the importance of preserving the Caspian Sea, its ecology, the unique biodiversity,” the Turkmen leader said. At the First Caspian Economic Forum in Turkmenistan this August, our country initiated the idea of creating a new Caspian environmental programme as a complex of environmental measures to ensure the efficient use of the rich natural resources of the Caspian Sea. “We intend to initiate a broad dialogue on this topic, and we hope for the full support of the Non-Aligned Movement”, the President of Turkmenistan concluded.
