On May 12, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, who was on an official visit to the Republic of Austria, received President of the Austrian-Turkmen Society Ms. Neda Berger. As known, the Austrian-Turkmen Society was founded in the autumn of 2008, on the threshold of the first official visit by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to Vienna. Since that time with the participation of the Society many significant joint projects, including the “Galkynysh” Turkmen-Austrian Symphony Orchestra have been implemented; various meetings, presentations, exhibitions have been regularly organized. The performances by Turkmen masters of art in Vienna, the cultural capital of Europe, as well as the organization of the Viennese Ball in Ashgabat can be cited among particularly important cultural events. Having noted that Neda Berger is a long-time friend of the Turkmen people, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has invited her to pay a visit to our country. Appreciative to the head of Turkmen state of the invitation and consideration given to the activity of the Austrian-Turkmen Society, Ms. Neda Berger highlighted great interest of Austria’s social circles in independent neutral Turkmenistan with its high international prestige.
