Opening ceremony of XXX World Summer Universiade was held at Sao Paolo Stadium of Napoli (Italy) on July 3. Sportsmen from 127 countries of the world including from Turkmenistan marched across the stadium. President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Mattarella announced the opening of sport games and the torch of the Universiade was lit up by famous football player Lorenzo Insigne. The audience had special catch of the appearance of the talisman of the Universiade, Parthenope the Mermaid, bright choreographic compositions with participation of 1,500 dancers, performance of 16-year old singer Carmen Pierri, the prize winner of Italian version of the Voice music contest. Popular Italian singer and author Malika Ayane, Paralympic champion of Europe, World and Olympic Games in fencing Beatrice Vio, three-time Olympic champion in water jumping Claus Dibiasi and many other were among the participants of the opening ceremony. President of International Federation of Student Sports (FISU) Oleg Matytsyn noted in his speech that it was Italy where the first Universiade took place 60 years ago and this sport movement has started and spread all over the world. President of International Olympic Movements Tomas Bach addressed video greeting to participants. Performance of the world famous tenor Andrea Bochelli was the adornment of the ceremony. The opening ceremony of XXX World Summer Universiade was finished by the parade of participating teams. After, the sky above Napoli Bay was coloured by celebration firework. It is worth reminding that Turkmenistan national team starts the participation in the XXX World Summer Universiade with the fights of judo wrestlers in different weight categories.
