On June 9, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov made a working helicopter tour of the capital and its suburbs, flying in a helicopter around some important sites. Getting acquainted with the construction progress of some important objects, the leader of nation gave particular attention to the issues related to V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held in 2017. ... On landing at a special pad in the capital’s vicinity, the leader of nation was met by Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan B. Gundogdyev who made a report to President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander in Chief of the country’s Armed Forces, General Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. The head of state noted that the work is kept going in our country on a regular basis aimed at modernizing the national Armed Forces - a stronghold of the Homeland’s defense capacity. Thereupon, the leader of nation gave consideration to the proposals on reinforcing the material-technical base of the national air forces, as well as to other relevant issues. Emphasizing that the Turkmen state’s Military Doctrine is of exclusively defensive character, the President of Turkmenistan has sorted out further improvement of the military personnel’s skills in operating modern military equipment and hardware among the tops of Doctrine’s priorities. The leader of nation also gave a number of commissions on ensuring the military personnel’s appropriate social and living conditions. Then, addressing the Chief of the State National Service “Turkmenhovayollary” M. Ayazov, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov concentrated attention on increasing the air-transport infrastructure capacities in view of the V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held in Ashgabat in 2017. Noting particularly that the Ashgabat International Airport’s passenger capacities will increase considerably posed by the arrival of many foreign visitors to see the Asian Games , the head of state suggested to use, in case of need, the airfield near Ashgabat. Regarding reasonable to create there the conditions for performing the additional local flights, the head of state gave the issue-related executive instructions. Getting acquainted with the planned airdrome reconstruction projects, the head of state demanded to carry out all the within-said works in the proper way. Then, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov left the venue in a helicopter.
