On May 19, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov took part in the opening ceremony of a new building of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan erected in the capital’s southern part where its administrative “belt” is being formed today. The customer of the project is the Presidential Administration Office of Turkmenistan, and the Contractor is a well-known French company – “Bouygues Batiment International”. The edifice covers an area of more than 56.6 thousand square meters; the exterior facings of the building are made of white marble, glass, and other materials in accordance with modern aesthetic requirements; the grand entrance is embellished with stained-glass grating and a traditional golden ornament. While getting acquainted with the interior design of the building, destined to become one of the centers of Turkmenistan’s foreign economic relations, the head of state proceeded to the foyer to examine the exhibition hall. A specialist of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) told the nation’s leader about the facilities of the premise capable of being transformed into several functional departments. Having noted that the modern equipment makes it possible to hold the events of any format, the specialist expressed his gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for good working conditions created in the new building. All in all, the multi-purpose 13-meter-high hall occupies an area of more than 8.2 thousand square meters. It is capable to simultaneously host an exhibition and a high-level conference. Its grounds and podiums enable to hold fashion shows and concert performances, showcase programs, and other cultural events. It can also be a venue for a large forum with participation of up to 4,000 people. The exhibition area is provided with pavilion-stands. On the opening day, our country’s printed matters were on display in one of the sections. The books authored by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, as well as the works by classical poets, gift editions occupied a special place. A wide variety of educational materials, ranging from the educational supplies and specialized books for specialists and students to the pre-school children’s books were exhibited. Examining the premise, the head of Turkmen state noted the necessity of active use of new technical aids and modern high technologies in the exhibition activities. In this regard, the nation’s leader gave the executive instructions to the Chamber’s executives on further motivating the modernization processes in this sphere. As for the specific features of the CCI building, the exhibition area is its core zone. Turkmenistan annually hosts scores of international exhibitions in the key areas of economy and social sphere. It is an excellent opportunity for domestic and foreign manufacturers, both traditional and potential partners of our country to demonstrate new products and services, to broaden business relations, make profitable contracts, and find prospective investors. International congresses, conferences and seminars are organized in the frames of exhibitions. Their program gives maximum attention to the priority tasks of the national economy development in the context of global trends. From year to year, the number of exhibitions held in Turkmenistan and their foreign participants increase. The ever-raising standards of servicing the exhibitions cause the personnel’s proficiency level improvement, introduction of the modern demonstration and information technologies, and design solutions. It is also important for worthy presentation of our country’s national expositions at the largest exhibition venues abroad, such as the “EXPO-2015” in Milan. Thus, the new Expo Center will certainly become a powerful impetus to further professional growth of domestic organizers of exhibition and trade fair activities. During his get-acquainted round of the CCI new, the head of state also examined its outdoor exhibition area (10,000 square meters) designed for conducting large-size exhibits – various equipment, special transport vehicles, and industrial installations and facilities. Examining the CCI’s banquet hall, the President of Turkmenistan paid attention to a wide selection of herbal beverages and teas offered in a cafeteria. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov examined also a conference hall with its impressive interior – a combination of the strict laconic modern and traditional Turkmen designs and patterns. Intended for the conferences, symposia, seminars, working meetings, the hall is tooled with all necessary modern facilities, TV monitors, and acoustic systems. Along with a 600-seat large conference hall, the building accommodates a 50-seat conference hall, as well as the premises for holding business meetings, presentations, and other events. The head of state said that the capital’s “Sergi Köşgi” Expo Center should be placed under the authority of the country’s public organizations; starting from next year, all the sectoral and universal economic exhibitions would be held in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The CCI’s responsible executives were given the issue-related assignments, particularly the ones on holding international forums, exhibitions, and their information support. The CCI’s sophisticated press center has everything necessary for the work of 200 people – journalists, press photographers and camera operators, who would cover the exhibitions, meetings and other events. The CCI’s new building also accommodates an in-house printing office with the advanced production line, which enables to produce high-quality printed matters. There are twenty-two offices for the Chamber’s personnel; at their disposal are a canteen, a cafeteria, indoor and outdoor parking lots. Then, in one of the offices of the new business center the head of the Turkmen state gave the Cabinet Deputies Chairman a number of commissions concerning preparation of the events to be held in the CCI building in the near future. The Vice-Premiers reported on the plans of using the complex’s grounds and facilities for extensive demonstrating of the production and export potential of different sectors of the economy, for organizing various meetings, presentations, etc. Under the present-day economic conditions, the concept itself of an exhibition event is undergoing fundamental changes. Today, it is not merely an economic review of the products and goods, but a demonstration of innovative solutions. In this respect, special requirements are advanced to the organization standards of exhibitions, the head of state emphasized, having focused on the importance of efficient use of modern facilities, exhibition equipment and grounds of the CCI’s building as a backbone factor in this sphere of the capital’s life. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has specially emphasized that the use of advanced experience and efficient technologies is Turkmenistan’s core strategy course for achieving high international level in the exhibition industry. And in this respect, the new complex of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry should serve as a model. After saying warm parting words to the ceremony participants, the President of Turkmenistan left the venue.
