The Head of the State ordered to start cotton sowing in Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary Velayats on March 23 and in Dashoguz Velayat on March 27 at the session of the Government on March 15. It is planned to produce 1,050,000 tons of cotton this year. Levelling of soil, ploughing and irrigation are carried out at the fields allocated for the cotton. Private agricultural producers, who received the land plots from special agricultural fund, also get ready for the sowing of the crop. In 2019, they will start the cultivation of cotton on 33,805 hectares of land. It was mentioned at the session of the Government that farmers are provided in timely manner with high quality seeds, different fertilizers, modern agricultural equipment and water in necessary volumes. All of these gives hope to receive good harvest of agricultural crops.
