The World Weightlifting Championship is continued in Martial Arts Complex of the Olympic village in Ashgabat. Winners in three weight categories were defined on the third day of the competitions. Kristina Shermetova represented Turkmenistan in women’s weight category up to 55 kg. Our Sportswoman tried to show maximum result, however due to the changes of the weight categories, she had to compete in higher category while many other athletes had to compete in lower. Our girl was close to the leaders in snatch discipline but she did not manage to lift 120 kg in the third attempt. The power of her opponents were demonstrated by the world records. For example, Sukanya Srisurat (Thailand) and Yachung Li (China) beat the world records five times in the row in the first discipline. In the result of stubborn competition, the sportswoman from Thailand is the winner of the gold and holder of the world record, which is 105 kg. She was followed by two sportswomen from China – Yachung Li became the second and Wankiong Chang – the third. The athlete from Thailand had nobody equal to her in jerk discipline. Each attempt became new record, which final was set at the weight of 127 kg. Total world record became 232 kg. Wankiong Chang became the second in this discipline with the weight of 124 kg and won the bronze by total result. Kristina Yovu (Romania) was the third in jerk. Yachung Li was the fourth, however, by total weight of two discipline she won the silver. Captivating contest was in women’s category up to 49 kg. In snatch, 20-year old Huihua Chung from China set junior world record in the first attempt, having lifted 87 kg. The next two attempts have brought her adult record. She improved the figure to 90 kg at first and then to 93 kg. However, her opponents managed to take over her. First, Sopita Tanasan from Thailand lifted the weight of 93 kg, having become the first in snatch by additional weight. Having managed the same weight, Zihui Hou (China) was the second. The situation repeated in jerk. Weightlifter from Thailand Gautra Pramongkhol interrupted the contest of two Chinese athletes. In the first attempt, she set the world record in this discipline, having lifted 115 kg and to exceed her result by 5 kg in the next attempt. It allowed her winning with total weight of 209 kg and beating the record of Zihui Hou from China by one kg. In the result, the sportswoman form China is on the second position. Huihua Chang added two bronze medals in jerk. All her three results are junior world records. Henadz Lapseu from the Republic of Belarus set junior world record of 132 kg in snatch in the weight category up to 61 kg, however his record have been beaten almost immediately by 1 kg by Ahmadjon Ergashev from Uzbekistan. In the next attempt, the weightlifter from Uzbekistan lifted the weight of 136 kg but this junior record was enough only for the fourth place and the medals went to more experienced sportsmen. From the beginning Eco Yuli Iravan took the lead, having demonstrated the best result of 143 kg, which 1 kg less than the world record. Chinese athletes Fabin Li and Fulin Quin took silver and bronze medals. In jerk, the sportsman from Indonesia has also taken the gold, having become the leader in total. He set new world records in jerk 174 kg and in total 317 kg. Fulin Quin was the second in jerk and the third in total with 169 kg. Francisco Antonio Valencia (Columbia) has lifted the same weight but lost by our results and became the bronze winner. Fabin Li was the fourth in the jerk but took silver medal in total. Sportsman from Uzbekistan Muhammadkodir Toshtemirov set junior world record in snatch discipline in the weight category 73 kg in C group, having lifted the weight of 138 kg from the second attempt. Sheng Ming Chuang (Chinese Taipei) was the best in two disciplines with the weight of 309 kg. Goga Chkheidze from Georgia lifted 311 kg in total as well as demonstrated the best result in the jerk and became the leader in weight category 67 kg. Turkmenistan national team has two silver and one bronze medal after three days of the competition. This is the fifth place in total team score. On the next day, the winners in three weight categories – men’s 63 and 73 kg and women’s 59 kg, will be defined.
