Our fellow countryman Dovletmyrat Orazgylyjov (79 kg) has won a silver medal at the International Freestyle Wrestling Championship that just ended in the city of Minsk. In the early stage of the championship, the student of the National Institute of Sport and Tourism managed to pin his opponent from Belarus in the first minute of the match, having secured a clear victory. In the semifinal our wrestler competed against a Russian wrestler. Dovletmyrat beat his opponent convincingly in this match. From the opening minutes, he seized the initiative to earn an 8:0 win. In the final bout versus a US wrestler, the Turkmen wrestler executed several successful throws, but it was not enough to win him gold in the event. As a result, our fellow countryman became a silver medal winner. This is not the first time D. Orazgylyjov has been awarded a medal at major international championships. His collection includes the bronze he won at the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in 2017, and another two bronze medals captured at the Ivan Yarygin Memorial Grand Prix (Krasnoyarsk, Russian Federation) and the Asian Wrestling Championship in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).
