Farmers of Dashoguz Velayat started cotton harvesting in the region where the campaign normally starts later than in other regions due to climate conditions. Discussion of the objectives of organized harvest campaign, coordinated work and cooperation of all relevant service were the main subject of working meeting in the administration office of the velayat. Cotton fields occupy 140 thousand hectares in northern region. It is planned to produce 130,000 tons of cotton from this land. The farmers of the velayat prefer to grow medium fibre species of cotton like Dashoguz 120, Serdar, C-4727, Jeyhun, 149F and other. Unstoppable rhythm of field works will be provided by modern agricultural equipment. High productive harvesters, mainly from John Deere and Case are taken out to the fields while big fleet of heavy trucks and tractors with trailers are involved in transportation of cotton. Reception facilities and cotton ginning plants are ready for 24 hours work. Theu have laboratories with modern equipment used by the specialist of the Main State Service Türkmenstandartlary to check the quality of raw product. Heads of local and reginal administration, farming associations as well as representatives of public organizations, scientists, agrarians, agronomists, machine operators and drivers tool part in the events on occasion of the start of cotton harvest campaign. During events, the participants have also visited architectural monuments located at the territory of Kunyaurgench State Historical and Cultural Reserve. Exhibition of agricultural equipment and production made by reginal agricultural complex has been organized. Musical ensembles of the velayat prepared concert programme. National sport competitions raised great interest of the participants of the celebration.
