Last week, the Youth Olympic School hosted a ceremony in honor of the sportsmen, who had won the first medals (of all types) at the international junior short track speed skating competitions (short track is one of the forms of ice speed skating), held in the Korean town of PyeongChang.

Turkmen boxers have won two bronze medals at the International D. Shopokov Memorial Boxing Tournament, which ended in the capital of Kyrgyzstan – Bishkek.

Turkmen sportsmen have achieved remarkable success at the Sambo World Cup stage, held in the Kazakh city of Almaty.

A sport school in the village of Yzgant, Akhal velayat hosted the Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship of Turkmenistan. The strongest wrestlers from all regions of the country and Ashgabat took part in the championship.

Eight medals brought from the Asian Weightlifting Championship and the bronze medal won at the international tournament, have become Turkmen sportsmen’ first awards in the international sport arena in 2015.

A new page has been opened in the history of our country’s sports movement development: Ashgabat hosted Turkmenistan’s first-ever Sport Dance Open Championship which brought together about 130 participants aged from 5 to 26.
