International exhibition Fair dedicated to the Day of Turkmen Horse annually observed on the last Sunday in April opened in Exhibition hall of the Trade and Industrial Chamber of Turkmenistan.

The forum organized by the “Turkmen Atlary” State Association brought together over 100 Turkmen and foreign specialists, the experts in hippology, genetic scientists, stock-breeders, equestrians and trainers, historians, ethnographers, art historians, as well as the representatives of public organizations and mass. Among the participating countries were Russia, the United States, China, Korea, Iran, Vietnam, Uruguay, and others.

Near the southern foothill valley of the capital along Kopetdag Avenue in the framework of the program of events on the occasion of the Turkmen Horse Festival was a traditional equestrian marathon 60 kilometers long and competitions in show -jumping was held in the open arena of the equestrian center of Ashgabat.

Session of Turkmenistan National Olympic Committee General Assembly was held in Ashgabat. The agenda of the meeting included organizational issues, reports of accomplished work for the last years and plans of future development of Olympic movement.

Turkmen Horse Day is observed annually in the country on the last Sunday of April. Traditionally, rich programme of events was prepared to this date. VIII session of International Ahalteke Horse Association, X International Scientific Conference “Turkmen Horse and the World Equestrian Art” as well as International Specialized Exhibition, horse marathon, show jumping contest, junior jockeys competitions, traditional races are to be organized in Ashgabat under the celebration. Summing up of the outcomes of the best ahalteke horse contest is also to take place.

A new issue of the journal “Construction and architecture of Turkmenistan” continues to highlight the stages of the implementation of the city planning policy, creating the picture of time in the erected buildings and constructions that adorn the look of our cities and villages, the whole country, embodying the new quality of people’s life.

Further expansion of trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Balkan Velayat in Turkmenistan and Mangistau region in the Republic of Kazakhstan was included in the agenda of the meeting with the participation of the representatives of government structures, industrial and business circles, art personnel of friendly countries in Avaza National tourism zone.

15-km waterway Hyvaabat – Kaahka was ceremonially opened in Kaahka etrap. Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management, the United nations Development Programme (UNDP), velayat and etrap administration and non-governmental organizations took part in the ceremony.

The Conference Hall of the Center for Public Organizations of Turkmenistan hosted a Conference dedicated to Resolutions, “World Bicycle Day” and “Cooperation between the United Nations and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea”, adopted at the 82nd meeting of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly and drafted based on the initiative by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The Conference was attended by Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chair and members of the National Parliament, leaders of ministries and sectoral agencies, heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of the country’s public organizations, mass media and honorable elders.

During the session of the Government, the President of Turkmenistan requested the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister and other relative leaders to organize the events dedicated to the adoption of the Resolutions “World Bicycle Day” and “Cooperation between the United Nations Organization and International Fund for Saving of Aral Sea”, which drafts were elaborated by the initiative of Turkmen leader.
