In the afternoon, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov who is currently on the state visit in Tashkent and his colleague Shavkat Mirziyoyev went to the Monument of Independence and Humanism on Mustakillik Square. This memorial complex includes two sculptural compositions of Independence and Happy Mother, which represent the image of new sovereign state and creative aspirations of Uzbek nation.

During the top-level talks in Tashkent, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that secure of lasting peace, security and development in Central Asia ranked among the absolute priorities of cooperation between the two countries. Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are fully aware of the responsibility they have in regional affairs, creating the atmosphere of good-neighborliness and mutual understanding, maintaining the stable balance of interests, preventing conflicts in the region.

The Turkmen-Uzbek top-level talks focused on the trade and economic cooperation. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the mutual potential in the investments and industrial cooperation as well as agreed to offer a new incentive to the traditional partnership and aim the business structures and manufacturers of the two countries to launch joint projects, including in the small- and medium-sized business.
