President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has taken part in the opening ceremony of the country’s first-ever combined cycle gas-steam turbine power plant at the Mary Hydroelectric Power Station.

During the opening ceremony of the country’s first-ever combined-cycle gas-steam turbine power plant at the Mary Hydroelectric Power Station, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited a control center of the new facility with an annual capacity of 1,574 MW.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of the first in the country combined gas and steam turbine power station that works based on the coordinated control with Mary hydro-electric power station, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the new modern power station vividly testified to the successful implementation of the Concept for the Development of the Electricity Industry of Turkmenistan in 2013-2020.

Energy industry is one of the most important sectors of the national economy. To increase the efficiency of works in this industry, the large-scale projects were implemented and new high-capacity power plants were built and commissioned in a short space of time. Power lines were renovated and cutting-edge equipment was installed, states the Address by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of Turkmenistan’s Energy Industry Workers Day.

A delegation of 117 people: representatives of the French company co-organizing the Amul-Hazar 2018 rally, participants including renowned racers from the UK, Czech Republic and other countries, and journalists that will cover the event arrived in the Ashgabat International Airport on the Paris-Ashgabat flight.
