On occasion of the International Women’s Day, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution, authorizing to present monetary awards at the amount of 40 (forty) manats to the women, working at enterprises, institutions and organisations irrespective of the form of ownership, as well as the women, who receive pensions and public welfare payments, female postgraduate students, PhD candidates, interns, female students of the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan, female students of higher educational institutions, schoolgirls and girls in preschool institutions on March 1-6, 2018.

In Turkmenistan, the most important stage of the preparatory work was completed, which was deployed everywhere in connection with March 25 elections of the deputies of the Mejlis, members of the Khalk Maslakhaty and Gengeshes.

It was published the first issue of theoretical and practical magazine “Finances and Economy”. The country’s Ministry of Finance and Economy is the founder of the new issue, edited in Turkmen, English and Russian.

National team confidently started in qualification tournament if the third division of the Ice Hockey World Championship. The teams for UAE, Kuwait and the host of the competitions Bosnia and Herzegovina are in our group.

Turkmenistan has been elected to the Bureau of Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in 2019 – 2020. This news came from the UN Department in Geneva (Switzerland) where regular 80th session of this competent intergovernmental organization was held on February 20 – 23. Turkmen delegations has also taken part in the work of the session.

Silk is another great invention, which is like the pottery table, wheel, script and money has changed the world, having made it not only civilized but beautiful as well. This soft fabric made of finest threads with shimmering glow, light and pleasant to touch started to be produced from silkworm cocoons in China in neolith age. It took almost three thousand years to find out about this wonderful fabric and to start production outside China.

The 80th session of the Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, held in Geneva, the Swiss Confederation on February 22, took the decision on admitting Turkmenistan to the Committee office.

During working trip to Lebap Velayat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening of International Airport that has been built in administration centre of the velayat as well as gave start to mass sport competitions “The Great Silk Road”.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Director General of Africa Eco Race Jean-Louis Schlesser - a French racing driver with experience in circuit racing and cross-country rallying. He is twice champion of the world in sportscars, the French touring car champion, the German Supercup champion and four times world champion in cross-country rallies, Paris-Dakar and Africa Eco Race champion.

International Airport was opened with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Turkmenabat, the administration centre of Lebap Velayat.
