During the opening of the city of national importance, with the participation of the head of state and numerous foreign guests, a solemn meeting was held in the Ruhyet Palace. Residents and guests of the first «smart» city of Arkadag in Turkmenistan will use urban transport that meets the most stringent environmental standards and operates on the basis of digital technologies.

A characteristic feature of Arkadag, based on the concept of "Smart-city", are modern 5-, 7- and 9-storey apartment buildings and 2-storey cottages built using "smart" home technology.

A sports infrastructure has been created in Arkadag, Turkmenistan's first "smart" city that promotes healthy lifestyle principles in society.

Today, in accordance with the educational policy, new educational institutions, meeting the latest world standards, are put into operation everywhere in Turkmenistan. The objects of this important sphere, commissioned in the newly opened city of Arkadag, were not an exception in this respect. There have been already built ten pre-school educational institutions in the first phase of construction of the city, the work of which will be aimed at educating a generation with a broad outlook.

Cultural and humanitarian sphere plays an important role in the social and political life of Arkadag, the first smart city in Turkmenistan. A number of modern cultural facilities have been built in the city.

Today, with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, large-scale celebrations began in honour of the opening of the country's first «smart» city of Arkadag.

In order to widely popularize in the future the potential of the city of Arkadag, built on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, based on the concept of «smart city» using advanced new generation technologies and having all the conditions for holding various thematic events, inspiring creative workers to create new works and organizing in the country the Weeks of Culture dedicated to the Day of Workers of Culture and Art, as well as Magtymguly's Poetry as a holiday of Turkmen culture, art and literature The President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution, according to which it was ordered to hold the Week of Culture on the 22nd to 27th of June, 2024 in the city of Arkadag, located on the territory of the Ahal velayat, as well as the Organizing Committee for the Week of Culture was created and its composition was approved.
