Today, on the occasion of the opening of the city of Arkadag, the first ever football match was held at the stadium put into operation here, in which the local team of the same name met with the current champion of Turkmenistan «Ahal». The game, although it had the status of a friendly, aroused increased interest among football fans, who filled the stands of the 10,000-seat arena to capacity.

Today, the city of Arkadag hosted an International Football Coaching Seminar dedicated to the opening of Turkmenistan's first "smart" city. It was organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports and the Football Federation of the country.

Achievements and topical issues of the development of horse breeding, prospects for strengthening fruitful cooperation in this area were put on the agenda of the International Conference «City of Arkadag - the Land of Ahal-Teke Horses», held today in the administrative building of the Agricultural Complex of the new city.
