The Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Centre held opening ceremony of International scientific conference and festival “Ancient Sources of Music Arts”.

Architectural and archaeological monuments remained in Turkmenistan, many of which witnessed turbulent life along ancient trade routes, have much to tell to our contemporaries and descendants. Indeed, due to its geographic location Turkmen land became the main bridge between the Western and Eastern worlds. Important communication channels between the civilizations of Asia and Europe run via our territory.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent greeting message to the participants of international scientific conference and festival “Ancient Sources of Music Art”.

During the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on April 11, Vice-premier B. Abdieyva informed on the preparation to International Scientific Conference and Festival “Ancient Sources of Music Art” in Ashgabat on April 18 – 19. Cultural personnel and art masters of number of foreign states informed on the participation in the forum. Scientific conference, concerts, master classes of foreign specialists with the students of profile educational institutes of our country are planned under the forum.

Renowned German musicians of band FAVO, Falk Breitkreuz and Volker Schlott, together with the famous Belgian vocalist, Sander De Winne, put the capital’s residents in the spring mood with the sounds of jazz.

Specialists of National Historical and Cultural Monuments Protection, Study and Restoration Department of the Ministry of Culture and the Academy of Science commenced new season of archaeological excavations, studies and restorations of historical and cultural monuments of the country.

Artistic meetings, contests, scientific and practical conferences, theatre performances, exhibitions and concerts are to be held in the museums, libraries, high educational and secondary specialized institutes and the Academy of Science, State Circus, concert halls under the events dedicated to the slogan of the year “Turkmenistan is the Heart of the Great Silk Road”.

A festive concert was arranged in the Palace of Mukams of the State Cultural Centre on occasion of the International Women’s Day.

At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on March 2, the President of Turkmenistan focused on increasing the efficiency of the development of tourism.
