President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the people of Turkmenistan on occasion of the adoption of the Resolution on “Cooperation between the United Nations and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea” initiated by Turkmenistan during the 85th plenary meeting of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly on May 28, 2019.

Resolution on Cooperation between the United Nations Organization and International Fund for Saving of Aral Sea initiated by the President of Turkmenistan has been unanimously adopted at the 85th session of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly on May 28, 2019. 21 states were the co-authors of the document.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular video conference session of the Cabinet of Ministers. Coming to the agenda, the Head of the State called deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers G. Myradov. The Vice-premier reported on the work for efficient involvement of the abilities of young specialists who has professional qualification.

In the morning, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov followed by the Speaker of the Mejlis, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies as well as the Hyakim of Ashgabat has inspected the works in the centre of the capital, having focused on the provision of good condition of the main avenues of the city.

X Turkmenistan International Gas Congress (TGC 2019) has started work in Avaza National tourist zone. Big specialized forum, which is to give new impulse to international cooperation in energy sphere, was organized by the State Concern Türkmengaz.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed greeting message to the participants of X International Gas Congress, which opens in Avaza National tourist zone. Having congratulated on the start of the forum, Turkmen leader expressed the confidence that traditional gas congress would open wide perspectives for establishment and strengthening of fruitful cooperation and development of friendly relations.

In order to ensure safe social, economic, and environmental conditions for the population living in earthquake-prone areas of the country, determine and record the level of seismic risk, reduce the impact of potential earthquakes, as well as successfully implement the tasks envisaged in the Seismic Risk Reduction Programme of Turkmenistan, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree on the establishment of the Interdepartmental Council for seismic risk reduction in earthquake regions of the country.

Briefing with the participation of the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of foreign and national mass media for highlighting of the subjects related to the project of Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake in Karakum Desert as well as cooperation of our country with specialized UN departments in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals was held in Serdar etrap, Balkan Velayat.

Speaking during the press conference on occasion of laying the foundation of a new village in the area of the Altyn Asyr Lake, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, the head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Natalia German thanked the Turkmen side for the opportunity to participate in such an important event.

A briefing with the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Ashgabat, the representatives of foreign and domestic media took place in Serdar Etrap in the area of the Turkmen Lake. The issues on the project of the construction of the Altyn Asyr Lake in the Karakum Desert as well as the issues on cooperation of our country with the UN agency on the Sustainable Devellopment Goals, including three main areas: economic, social and environmental spheres were highlighted during the briefing.
