Today, António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, arrived in our country to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, being held on the coast of the Caspian Sea. The international forum, which has become a major event of a new historical era, is yet another demonstration of the United Nations’ recognition of the initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan for the benefit of all humanity. 

Today, a flag-raising ceremony was held at the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone to mark the start of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

Continuing a cycle of publications devoted to thematic events on the margins of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), which will be held in Avaza national tourist zone in August, one should point out that Turkmenistan, as an active participant of global processes and committed to principles of multilateral diplomacy, displays a dynamic development of cooperation with the United Nations Organization.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent sincere congratulations and best wishes to President of the Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter on the occasion of the country's national holiday - Swiss Confederation Day.

In a few days, Turkmenistan will host the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), an event of global significance associated with changes in the lives of over 570 million people living in 32 countries located on different continents. The solution to their special problems associated with overcoming geographical isolation, expanding access to investment, world trade markets and integration into the world economy is closely linked to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals common to all mankind. The UN Conferences on LLDCs, held once a decade, are important platforms for reviewing the progress achieved in the development of these countries and defining an action program for the next decade. 

Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to Balkan velayat to review the preparations for the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, ensuring its high-level organization.

Today, a solemn opening of a new avenue and a modern bridge, which Hero Arkadag blessed during his working trip to the new city, took place here.

Continuing the series of publications dedicated to thematic events within the framework of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC), which will be held in August in the «Avaza» National Tourist Zone, it should be noted that day by day, Turkmenistan's cooperation with the UN is expanding in all areas. One of its most important areas is culture.

Last week, 19 transactions were registered at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.
