At the session of the Government on January 18, Vice-premier M. Meredov informed the Head of the State on new deposit of fresh water, which was discovered in Halach etrap, Lebap Velayat and was registered as Halaç II in the end of 2018. Operational resources of 58.7 square kilometres deposit will provide the population with additional drinking water, which is 30,000 cubic metres per day or 348 litres per second.

The Ministry of Industry takes measures for development of calcite production. It was informed to the Head of the State by Vice-premier M. Chakiyev at the session of the Government on January 18.

Investment policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is aimed at the provision of high rates and improvement of efficiency of the economy. Attraction of foreign capital to the economy of Turkmenistan acquires great importance for solution of these objectives as well as for further promotion of marketing reforms, structural changes of national economy, improvement of innovative component in the conditions of active integration to the system of global trade, scientific and technological relations.

For coordination of activity on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and relevant objectives planned by the members of the United Nations in Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on establishment of Inter-departmental Work Commission for preparation of Voluntary National Review of Turkmenistan in the field of the implementation of the above-mentioned goals and on approval of the composition of the Commission.

For improvement of the activity of Inter-departmental Commission for fulfilment of international obligations of Turkmenistan in human rights and international humanitarian law, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sign the Resolution approving the composition of the Commission.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution, having approved the Plan of events in honour of the year “Turkmenistan – Home of Prosperity”.

By the Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Shalar geldynazarov was appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of India (New Delhi). He was conferred with diplomatic rank of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held video conference session with the participation of the Hyakims of the velayats where the issues related to the elaboration of the programmes of social and economic development of the regions of the country in 2019 – 2025 have been reviewed.

The Ministry of Health Protection and Medical Industry hosted the ceremony of signing of documents between the State authorities of the country and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held working session with the participation of some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers. Drafts profile programmes as well as the preparation of the Programme of social and economic development of the country in 2019 – 2025 have been discussed at the session.
