Turkmenistan marks the Day of Cultural and Art Personnel and the Day of Magtumguly Fragi Poetry. The Week of Culture 2018, which was finished by the gala concert under the dome of Nowruz ýaýlasynyň ak öýi in Ahal Valley, was timed to these events.

“I congratulate you on the Day of Workers of Culture and Arts and the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi that is celebrated for the first time in the year under the motto “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road”! I wish you good health, prosperity and creative success”, says the President of Turkmenistan, congratulating the workers of culture and arts, and all the compatriots.

The fifth day of the Culture Week was marked with a concert “Küşt Depip, Gazal Aýdyp” given by folk and dance ensembles from across the country in the Culture House in Anau, Akhal velayat. The main aim of the event is to popularize the traditional art of singing and dancing, Kushtdepdi, inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The Culture Week will be remembered by fellow citizens and guests of the country as a bright constellation of events. This large-scale campaign dedicated to the Day of Workers of Culture and Art and Magtymguly Pyragy’s Poetry Day turned into a great celebration that aims to promote the spiritual and cultural heritage and unique traditions of the Turkmen people.

As part of the Culture Week–2018, participants visited unique historical monuments in Ahal province: the Seyit Jemaleddin Mosque and the ancient settlement of Paryzdepe. The Ak bugdaý National museum hosted the opening ceremony of the exhibition of local painters, items of decorative and applied art and the scientific conference headlined “The Great Silk Road in Visual Art”.

By hosting the Culture Week this year that celebrates the slogan “Turkmenistan Is the Heart of the Great Silk Road”, not only has Ahal province become the center of the colorful creative traditions of the Turkmen people, but also the center of attraction for cultural figures and masters of art from every region of the country, their rave admirers and foreign tourists visiting this region to see the historical monuments of global significance located on its territory.

Solemn opening of the Culture Week took place in Ahal valley, in the building of Nowruz ýaýlasynyň ak öýi. This large-scale campaign is held annually in different regions of the country as a showcase of the vibrant and diverse local culture.

Opening of festival “Music of Nury Halmamedov – Everlasting Melody of Epochs” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of National Artist of Turkmenistan was held in the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Centre.

The programme of cultural events of June includes festival “Music of Nury Halmamedov – Ceaseless Melody of the Ages” in Ashgabat on June 18 – 21, Cultural Week in Ahal Velayat on June 22 – 27 and the events on occasion of the Day of Cultural and Art Personnel as well the Day of Magtumguly Poetry. Planned cultural events are aimed at the popularization of national spiritual heritage and modern achievements of the country.

Turkmen horse riders won the main prize of I International festival of circus art “On Fonatanka” in Saint Petersburg – Gold Gaetano. This triumph of united team of the members of national equestrian games group Galkynysh of Ahalteke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan of the State Association Turkmenatlary and Turkmen Horse Riders Group of the State Circus of Turkmenistan again raised the rush of national pride for our compatriots.
