An online seminar entitled “Greenhouse Vegetable Production and Key Aspects of Greenhouse Management” has taken place today as part of the EU-funded Project “Support to Further Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in Turkmenistan” (SARD III).
Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the event brought together vegetable agronomist, greenhouse workers, and experts of the Project.
Seminar participants had a lively and meaningful exchange of views on greenhouse crop production practices in the world and in Turkmenistan, prospects for the development of greenhouse farming and wider productive cooperation.
Foreign specialists familiarized those participating in the online event with modern methods and innovations in the fields of greenhouse production, seed selection, seedling production, designing a fertilization program, irrigation, pest and disease control, and key aspects of greenhouse management.
Alongside with vegetables and flowers, the seminar participants explored possibilities of growing citrus plants in greenhouses. Special emphasis was placed on phytosanitary requirements for fruit and vegetables exported to EU countries.
